Rheem Railed; Chung Crushed

Nível 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

Chino Rheem doubled early, but lost a few pots in between and was down to just a few hundred thousand in chips.

In his final hand, Joe Hanrahan opened with a raise to 45,000. Vincent Chung moved all in over the top for roughly 680,000. Rheem then called all in with a shorter stack than Chung's. Hanrahan thought for a bit, then called both all-ins and the hands were tabled.

Hanrahan: {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Rheem: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Chung: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

"Come on, baby!" Rheem cheered, standing up on his chair.

"Down, Chino!" one of the floormen yelled.

The board rolled out {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} and that kept Hanrahan in the lead the whole way, allowing him to eliminate both Rheem and Chung from the tournament, while he moved past 2 million chips.

Minh Ly Hits The Rail

Nível 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Minh Ly
Minh Ly

According to some of the members of his table, Kevin Song opened with a raise. He was three-bet by Minh Ly to 85,000. Barry Schmiess was just a few seats over from Ly and he put in a four-bet, which was enough to put Ly all in. Song folded, and Ly made the call for the rest of his chips.

Ly was holding {8-}{8-} while Schmiess held {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The board ran out {9-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Schmiess made a set while Ly did not improve and he was sent to the payout desk.

Early Double Up for Rheem

Nível 21 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Chino Rheem from Day 4
Chino Rheem from Day 4

Chino Rheem opened-shoved all in from early position. Action folded to Aliaksei Boika who reshoved all in over the top. Everyone folded, bringing the two to a showdown.

Rheem: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}
Boika: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Rheem pleaded with the dealer to keep the flop clean and she did as it rolled out {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, giving him a bit of a sweat but keeping him in the lead. He remained safe on the {4-Clubs} turn and {3-Clubs} river and that allowed him to double up.

"Yes!" he said, slamming the table. Immediately he stood up and began texting. His all-in was counted out for 467,000 and Boika was forced to cut out the chips and send them over.

Day 4 Action

Yesterday on Day 4, as 1,084 survivors returned for Day 4, players were in the money but those numbers wouldn’t last long. Within only a few hours, the field had been thinned to about 700, and more players began to fall throughout the day. When the action was over, only 297 remained, including 2016 November Niner Kenny Hallaert who sits in third place in the chip counts and is looking for a second-straight final table. Five other November Niners also remain in the field hoping for another deep run: Ben Lamb, Antoine Saout, Eoghan O'Dea, Chino Rheem, Tom Cannuli, Michael Ruane, Matt Giannetti, and Jake Balsiger.

Argentina’s Damian Salas leads the field with 4,678,000 chips, and has more than $900,000 in tournament winnings. He’s looking to parlay his success into his first WSOP bracelet. Following him is Sebastien Comel with 4,198,000 and Hallaert with 4,145,000. Comel has $458,000 in winnings and looking for his first major win.

The 35-year-old Belgian Hallaert may be the story of Day 4 as he attempts the Herculean feat of back-to-back Main Event final tables. In 2016, he took sixth for $1.5 million and had a good run this summer with eight cashes for more than $350,000. That total includes two final tables: third in Event #36: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed for $238,855, and seventh in Event #66: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em for $58,803. Despite having many close calls and $2.2 million in WSOP winnings, he is still looking for that first bracelet.

Other notables with above-average stacks include JP Kelly (3,923,000), Jonas Mackoff (3,076,000), Mickey Craft (2,389,000), Dario Sammartino (1,769,000), Martin Finger (1,658,000), Charlie Carrel (1,598,000), Matt Bond (1,488,000), Isaac Haxton (1,436,000), and 888 Ambassador Dominik Nitsche (1,404,000).
