Mike Linster Defeats Cantu in a Cooler Hand

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Mike Linster
Mike Linster

Mike Linster has been busy early in Day 2, building a chip stack up to nearly 200,000. Most of it came from the early chip leader in Brandon Cantu as he slid down to around 160,000 chips. Then the two players played a monster pot with each other.

Linster opened the pot with a raise and Cantu looked down at two face cards and three-bet to 15,000, saying afterward he did not know what they were at the time. Linster made a four-bet to 46,500, forcing Cantu to now look at which face cards were in his hand. After taking a full look at his cards and giving some thought to his next move, Cantu shipped all in for around 162,000. Linster instantly called, tabling {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} while Cantu rolled over {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

The flop was {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Cantu was nearly drawing dead. The {4-Clubs} on the turn sealed the deal and the {5-Hearts} on the river completed the board. Linster eliminated Cantu and took over the chip lead with over 350,000 now.

Tom Hall Comes Out Looking Like a Rose

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The action was on Tom Hall in the small blind and he was facing a raise from Lgbs Fernandez from under the gun. Hall put in a three-bet to 21,500, only to have Fernandez move all in for 109,900. Hall thought for a couple moments and decided to call.

Fernandez tabled {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} and Hall was way behind with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. However, when the dealer fanned the flop of {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Hall immediately jumped out front. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the river brought the {6-Diamonds} giving Hall a full house and knocking out Fernandez.

Ballantyne Takes Some from Gimbel

Nível 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Harrison Gimbel raised to 3,200 and Ronnie Ballantyne called from the big blind.

The flop came {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {8-Hearts} and Gimbel check-called a bet of 4,000 from Ballantyne. The river was the {a-Clubs}. Gimbel put out a 12,500 bet and Ballantyne called.

Ballantyne showed {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of aces, and that beat Gimbel's {K-Spades}{6-Spades} to give Ballantyne the pot.
