Mike Leah's Money is "Sweet Like Honey"

Nível 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Mike Leah

"Please give me something so I can bet into these guys," a player said as Mike Leah faced off against two opponents heading to a flop. The dealer spread the {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades} and the player did follow up with a bet, which Leah raised, prompting two calls.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and action checked to Leah. He bet and this time he was raised by the third player in the hand. The original better folded, but Leah called.

The river was the {8-Clubs} and Leah check-called one last bet.

Leah showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} but he was no good, as his opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}, awarding him three-quarters of the pot.

As he raked in the pot, he grabbed some of the chips and smelled them.

"Mmmm," he said. "That Mike money has a good smell to it. It's sweet, like honey. It's got hints of maple syrup." The rest of the table laughed, but Leah didn't join in on the laughter.

Hani Awad

On the turn of a {Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board, bracelet winner Hani Awad called after a bet and a raise before him. The original better called to complete the action.

The river was the {7-Spades} and after a check, one player bet. Awad called, as did the other player.

One player showed {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a pair of sevens and the nut low. The other showed {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a king high flush. Awad couldn't win the high or the low with this hand and the pot was chopped up.

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} action checked to Naoya Kihara in the big blind. He put out a bet and was called by two players.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and action checked to Kihara again. He bet and was raised by the player in position. Everyone else folded while Kihara called, taking the two heads-up to the river.

On the {10-Diamonds} river, Kihara checked to his opponent. She bet. Kihara took another look at his cards, sighed, then threw in a call.

"I have the nut flush," the player said, fanning her cards. "Four different ways."

She showed her {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Kihara groaned and turned up the {4-Clubs}, then mucked the rest of his hand.
