Hand #41: James Hughes raised to 65,000 from under the gun and Hampton called from the hijack, as did Chris Johnson in the cutoff and Gathy in the small blind. The flop came and Gathy led out for 135,000. Hughes and Hampton folded and Johnson called. The turn was the and both players checked to the on the river. They both checked again and both players had pocket nines to chop it up.
Hand #42: Eric Blair raised to 70,000 from under the gun and everyone folded.
Hand #43: Thomas Reynolds raised to 70,000 on the button, Hughes three-bet to 185,000 from the small blind, and Reynolds mucked.
Hand #44: Gathy raised to 60,000 from the hijack and Hampton decided to defend his big blind. The flop came and Hampton check-called a bet of 90,000 from Gathy. The turn was the and Hampton checked again. Gathy bet 250,000 this time and Hampton put in a check-raise to 500,000. Gathy thought for a moment called. The river was the and Hampton led out for 575,000.
"That's a bad river", laughed Gathy.
After a few minutes in the tank, Gathy slid forward a stack to call. Hampton tabled for a set of queens and Gathy mucked his cards.
