Billy Baxter Eliminated by Makram Merhom

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Seven-time bracelet winner Billy Baxter has been eliminated from the Seniors Event short of the money.

Makram Merhom raised from the button and Baxter three-bet from the big blind. Merhom moved all in putting Baxter at risk and Baxter made the call.

Merhom showed {j-}{j-} against Baxter's {a-}{q-Clubs}. There was no help for Baxter as the board bricket out and Merhom, who finished 23rd in this event two years ago, moved up to around 55,000.

James ''Oni'' Acock busts Marsha Wolak

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Marsha Wolak raised to 2,000 from the cutoff. James Oni called in the big blind. A flop reading {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} was dealt. Wolak bet 3,000 and Oni quickly called.

The turn was the {j-Clubs}. Wolak checked and Oni moved all-in. Marsha snap-called the rest of her chips.

Oni showed {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Marsha revealed {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Oni murmured: ''I've got the flush draw'' and barely had the time to finish his sentence before the dealer slammed down another club on the river to give him what he asked for.

Wolak shaked her head and said: ''I gotta take a picture of this, sorry guys,'' and did so before heading to the exit.

Pavilion Almost Empty

Nível 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

With just over 1,000 players left, the last remaining tables in the Pavilion room are being broken in turn into the Amazon room. Among those is Joe Notaro, playing in his first WSOP Seniors Event with a stack of around average as we approach the final level in the day.

Also moving into the Amazon room is Men Nguyen, winner of seven WSOP gold bracelets.

Payouts Confirmed; $617K for First Place

Nível 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

The payouts have just been confirmed for the 2017 Seniors Event with first place worth $617,303.

A total of 809 places will be paid, with a min-cash worth $1,499. Making the top 100 will earn players $4,030 and a spot at the final three tables will promise at least $20,890.

Making the final table will be worth $53,817 but, by that stage, everyone will be eyeing up first prize. Although not a record for this event (2013: $634K and 2014: $627K), the $617,3030 will be more than enough reward, in addition to the coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Second Bullet Going Well for Barny Boatman

According to English two-time bracelet winner Barny Boatman, his first bullet in the 2017 Seniors Event didn't exactly go so well.

"I got aces in against kings," he said, making an expression that every poker player would be familiar with. "So that wasn't great.

"Then there was an ace-high flop. I check-raised with ace-ten and my opponent had ace-queen, so I had hardly any chips left."

Now on his second bullet, Boatman seems to be doing much better with a stack of roughly 27,000.

"It should have been 40! I had tens in against sixes and he hit a six on the river!"

Greg Raymer Doing Well

Nível 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Greg Raymer was sat recounting tales from the first time he sat down to play the Colossus two years ago.

"So I asked my tablemates how many of them were playing a bracelet event for the first time, and only myself and two others didn't raise their hands.

"And I thought that meant that we would have a quiet time, y'know, with people putting their heads down and focussing.

"Oh no! Five all-ins first level! 100 big blinds and they just threw it around."

Raymer is still in with over half the field eliminated, with a healthy stack of just under 40,000.
