Berthold Winz raised to 9,000 from under the gun and Ankush Mandavia called out of the small blind. The flop fell and Mandavia checked, before Winz moved all in for 57,900. Mandavia took some time to make up the mind and eventually called.
Berthold Winz:
Ankush Mandavia:
The turn and the river failed to improve Winz and he was eliminated.
On the flop, Julian Stuer checked and Niall Farrell bet 10,000 on the button, which Stuer called from early position. On the turn, Stuer check-called a bet of 27,500 and the river was checked. Farrell had king-queen and Stuer tabled for two pair.
Hand 2
Moments later in the next hand, both were at it again and Stuer bet the river for 21,000. Farrell called and Stuer showed . The entire table laughed and Stuer silently raked in the pot. "I just can't fold," Farrell added and dropped back into the middle of the pack.
It started rather innocent and turned into a nightmare for Emil Lukac, who ended up sending his entire stack over to Adrian Mateos. The Spaniard raised to 5,000 and Lukac three-bet to 15,000. Mateos clicked it up to 40,000 and Lukac five-bet to 115,000 with some 160,000 behind.
Mateos moved all in and Lukac spent some time in the think tank before calling it off.
Emil Lukac:
Adrian Mateos:
The board ran out and the stacks were counted briefly. Mateos had 290,000 and Lukac was covered by some to hit the rail before the money. Next to Mateos is fellow big stack Alexander Lynskey and the duo might end up at the top of the counts tonight.
Eric Baldwin has been sitting at the same table for the duration of the day. If you give anyone of his skill level the time to study opponents and feel comfortable, it's a recipe for a long day for the rest of the players.
Baldwin was heads-up with an opponent on a board reading and his opponent checked. Baldwin bet 14,000 from the button and got a call. The river was the and the action was checked to Baldwin again who fired 38,000 this time. His opponent quickly mucked his cards and Baldwin raked in another pot.
Michael Addamo has been hovering around the 10-20 big blind stack for the majority of the day. However, in the past level Addamo has chipped up rather quickly to an above-average chip stack.
Arriving at his table, there was already over 70,000 in the pot and he was heads-up on the turn with the board reading . Addamo check-called a bet of 25,000 and the fell on the river. Addamo checked to his opponent who checked right behind him. Addamo tabled and his opponent sent his cards to the muck.
According to Dara O'Kearney, Maurice Hawkins won a big pot by busting an opponent that jammed with an eight-high flush and Hawkins had the nut flush. Just now, Hawkins was all over Theodore Burt when the duo headed to a river. There was more than 80,000 in the middle and Hawkins bet 65,000.
Burt eventually called and Hawkins rolled over for a full house to add even more chips to his massive tower.
The tournament director has instructed dealers to complete the hand they are on and hold up. The money bubble is approaching quickly and it is still unsure as to whether the bubble will burst tonight or early tomorrow.
The tournament clock has also been paused, and the last three hands of the evening will be played hand-for-hand. If the tournament reaches two players from the money, they will play until the money bubble bursts. If not, players will bag and tag to return tomorrow.
The last three hands of the night saw three players run out of chips, and all remaining 268 players bagged up once their T-100 chips were raced off. A list of notables as well as a recap of today's action will follow shortly, the full counts and seat draw for Day 3 will be published as soon as PokerNews receives them.
