Michael Berk ripped all in for 3,325,000 from under the gun and the action folded around to Bryan Obregon in the big blind who made the call.
Michael Berk: A♣K♥
Bryan Obregon: K♠K♦
Berk was looking for the coveted ace to stay alive but the 9♥9♣8♦ provided no help. The 6♦ and 7♦ runout also changed nothing and Berk headed to the payout desk.
Scott Berko raised to 3,300,000 from the button, keeping 50,000 behind. Dean Hutchison made the call from the small blind but Berko thought that Hutchison had three-bet to put him all-in so he accidentally revealed his cards. The floor was called over and ruled that it was just a call.
The flop came 7♥6♥Q♥. Hutchison bet for Berko to make the call for his last 50,000.
Scott Berko: K♥9♠
Dean Hutchison: A♠J♦
Berko held a flush draw, while Hutchison had the higher ace kicker.
The turn was the 3♠ which didn't help Berko and neither did the A♦ on the river as Hutchison improved to top pair to eliminate Berko in 43rd place.
With 1,750,000 in the middle, the flop read J♣4♣2♠.
Tim Van Loo checked from the small blind and so did Frank Bonacci in the big blind. Ryan Tosoc bet 600,000 for Van Loo to get out of the way. Bonacci responded with a shove for 7,000,000. Tosoc confirmed the counts before he made the call.
Frank Bonacci: K♠J♠
Ryan Tosoc: Q♠Q♣
Bonacci had flopped a pair of jacks but Tosoc was ahead with the overpair.
The rest of the board was completed with the 8♥ on the turn and the 9♣ on the river for Bonacci to bust in 44th place.
Pierpoala Lamanna raised to 500,000 preflop and got called by Cong Pham in the cutoff and Toby Lewis in the big blind. The trio then saw a flop of 9♣10♦5♦ and Lamanna continued for 800,000 once Lewis checked to him. Pham got out of the way, but Lewis matched the bet.
On the 8♥ turn, Lewis check-called another 1,650,000 bet from Lamanna. The 9♥ river then completed the board and Lewis promptly led out for 6,000,000, around half his stack. Lamanna thought it over for a bit before shipping his entire stack of 16,875,000 in the middle, covering Lewis.
Lewis sat in silence for a while before he stated "I've got a full house," followed by "I'd love to fold." Ultimately, however, he could not bring himself to do so and put in the call while tabling his 9♠5♠, which indeed was a rivered full house. Lamanna was forced to table his K♠Q♣ for a stone-cold bluff, and Lewis doubled up, while Lamanna was left with less than 20 big blinds early on Day 7.
Daniel Vampan raised to 550,000 in middle position and Masato Yokosawa three-bet to 1,700,000 in the hijack. Vampan four-bet jammed all in and Yokosawa quickly called off his stack of 5,100,000.
Masato Yokosawa: A♥K♠
Daniel Vampan: A♠Q♥
Yokosawa was in a dominating position but the flop of Q♠J♥3♠ gave Vampan the lead with a pair of queens. The 2♥ on the turn changed nothing and the 2♦ on the river spelled the end to Yokosawa's run in the Main Event.
Daniel Holzner was in the big blind in a heads-up pot against Nicholas Gerrity on the button on a flop of 2♣10♠8♣.
Holzner checked and Gerrity bet 6,000,000 to put Holzner all in for less. Holzner sat in the tank for several minutes before someone called the clock and he committed his last chips.
Daniel Holzner: A♣9♣
Nicholas Gerrity: Q♠J♦
Holzner was ahead with ace-high and had a flush draw to go with it. The board finished out 5♠A♠ and he improved to a pair of aces to earn the double.
Frank Bonacci raised to 625,000 from early position and found two callers in Adam Walton in the small blind and Tim Van Loo in the big blind. The flop fell 4♦10♠J♥ and Van Loo checked before Bonacci put another 1,100,000 chips in the pot. Walton got out of the way but Van Loo stuck around with a call.
The turn J♦ then checked through before Van Loo checked to Bonacci again on the Q♦ river. Bonacci went all in for his last 3,300,000 and Van Loo folded, granting the pot to Bonacci.
Daniel Weinman raised to 525,000 from early position and received calls by Joe Ghio and Matthew Wantman in the blinds.
All three players checked the 5♠7♠A♦ flop before the 6♦ appeared on the turn. Ghio and Wantman both checked again.
Weinman then fired out 1,600,000 and Ghio quickly folded. Wantman, though, tanked for more than a minute before he joined Ghio in the muck as Weinman took the pot.
Anirban Das raised to 500,000 in the cutoff, and Ryan Tamanini three-bet to 1,800,000 in the small blind. Alec Torelli in the big blind four-bet to 4,200,000 and Das folded. Tamanini went deep into the tank and folded, too.
One hand later, Das raised to 500,000, and Carlos Henrique Da Silva defended out of the big blind. The Q♥6♠3♠ flop was checked by the Brazilian, who then called Das' continuation bet of 525,000. Da Silva also check-called the Q♣ turn for 1,625,000 before both checked the 7♣ river.
