Coppens Takes a Hit From Pochat, Recovers Quickly

Haven Werner raised to 1,500 from under the gun, which was reraised to 3,600 by Manuel Pochat in middle position. Jen Coppens, two seats to his left, called, as did Werner.

The flop fell K♠2♦6♥. Werner and Pochat checked and Coppens bet 5,050. Werner folded but Pochat came along for the ride.

Pochat checked the Q♠ turn and Coppens bet again, for 8,000. Pochat called once more. The river came the 7♣ and was checked by both players. Coppens showed AxKx but Pochat tabled Q♥Q♣ to take the pot.

A few hands later, Coppens was involved again — check-calling from under the gun, on a flop of 9♥4♣A♦. Coppens checked again on a turn of 7♣ and called a bet of 4,000.

The river came the K♣. Coppens bet out 5,000, got the call and tabled A♣9♠, which was good enough to take the pot.

Lepisto Doubles Through Kalisek

After he took most of Johan Guilbert's chips thanks to a full house, Giuseppe Galluzzo opened from early position to 1,100. Clayton Kalisek in the cutoff called, as well as Paul Lepisto on the button and the big blind.

On 10♣A♣5♦, the big blind and Galluzzo checked to Kalisek, who bet 2,000. Seated on his left, Lepisto raised all in for his last 5,300 chips. All the other players folded, and Kalisek called.

Far behind, Kalisek found four outs after the turn 4♠ which opened a straight draw. But the river was the 10♠, and Lepisto doubled up.

Pochat's Queens Send Werner Out

Manuel Pochat raised 1,200 in middle position and both the small blind and Haven Werner called.

The dealer spread a flop of 8♣3♣3♥, and the small blind and Werner both check-called a continuation bet of 1,400 from Pochat.

When the 4♦ landed on the turn, the action checked to Pochat once again and he fired 5,200. The small blind check-folded and Werner jammed for about 13,200. Pochat snap-called.

Werner ran into Pochat's overpair and couldn't catch up as the 6♦ completed the board on the river.

Ferraro Sizes Up and Gets Paid

A completed board of J♥J♦2♦6♠Q♣ was spread out across the felt and Cole Ferraro was heads-up with Michael Krasienko. With around 30,000 in the middle, Ferraro led out with a full pot-sized bet of 30,000 on the river.

Krasienko deliberated for a moment before flicking in the call. Ferraro whipped over A♦J♠ for trip jacks and Krasienko sent his cards to the muck.

Pena Punishes with Premium Pocket Pair

Christian Pena had made it 7,700 to go preflop but was then faced with a min-raise to 13,500 from the player to his right after action folded around.

Pena decided this still wasn't enough and moved all in, covering his opponent who made the call to put himself at risk.

Pena was a huge favorite to win in this spot, and the board of 9♥J♥7♣2♥4♦ ran out clean for him to scoop the pot, eliminating his opponent.

Frank Continues to Chip-Up in Three-Bet Pot

Both the player in the big blind and the original raiser checked to Frank on the A♦10♠5♥ flop and Frank bet 3,000, only getting called by the original raiser, with the big blind folding.

The turn 2♣ was checked once more to Frank, who this time bet 5,000, getting the fold.

Numoto Wins Race to Send One Out

A player in early position raised to 1,300 and Scott Numoto three-bet to 4,000 from the hijack. Action folded back to the initial raiser, who made it 15,000 to go. Numoto instantly put out a stack of chips to put his opponent all in for slightly more and he called off.

It was a coinflip, but the J♥K♠Q♣ flop improved Numoto to a set and a commanding lead.

The 6♣ turn and 3♣ river kept Numoto best and he collected the rest of his opponent's chips.

Bach Joins Gold

David Bach has showed up in the gold section of the Horseshoe Event Center and defended his big blind multiway, creating a pot of 6,200 chips. The flop was subsequently fanned out 5♠Q♦6♣ and Bach checked to the under the gun player, who made a bet of 2,300.

The action then folded back to Bach, who put out a raise to 9,000. The puzzled under the gun player took a while, but eventually relinquished the pot to Bach.

Mills Smashes the Flop

Action was opened under the gun by Kasey Mills to 1,000. The action folded to the button who flat called and the small blind folded. It was then on the big blind who took a moment and ultimately opted to put in the cold three-bet to 5,000. Mills called and the button came along as well. The players were off to a flop three ways.

The J♥2♥K♠ flop hit the felt and the big blind continued with a bet of 7,000. Mills was next to act and took her time before gather a raise to the tune of 17,500 and putting it in the middle. The button got out of the way and the big blind went into the tank. After significant time had passed the big blind announced he was all in with Mills having him covered by just a few thousand. Mills snap called.

The cards hit their back.

Mills was in great shape but the 5♥ turn brought in a bunch of new outs in the form of a flush draw for her opponent's aces. Fortunately, the river landed a clean 9♦ and Mills would send her opponent to the rail early in Day 1 while dragging in a pile of chips.

Oharra Makes Incredible Laydown

Ryan Brown was nice enough to relay a hand history that conspired on his table:

Alan Dworetsky raised 1,100 under the gun and Kevin Oharra three-bet to 3,500 from a couple of spots to his left. The action folded back around to Dworetsky and he made the call.

The flop came KxJx2x and Dworetsky check-called a bet of 2,000 from Oharra.

The 2x fell on the turn and Dworetsky check-called again, this time for 10,000.

The Kx double-paired the board and Dworetsky jammed all-in for 70,000. Kevin Oharra had him only slightly covered and tank-folded A♥K♠ face up. Dworetsky couldn't believe what he was seeing and showed 2x2x for quad twos.
