Three days was not enough to determine a champion in Event #87: $2,500 Mixed Omaha/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, which means that three players will return to Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas to find out who will win $221,733 and a WSOP gold bracelet at the 2023 World Series of Poker.

Leading the final three is Nghia "3 Putts" Le, who bagged 7,400,000. Based out of Minnesota, the ever-talkative and jovial Le finished third in the $10,000 Razz Championship earlier this summer and looks to improve upon that finish and take home his first bracelet.

In second sits Nick Pupillo, who bagged 6,045,000. Pupillo won his first bracelet last month by capturing the $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball title, and will look to join Chad Eveslage, Chris Brewer, and Josh Arieh in taking home a second bracelet this summer.

Coming into Day 4 as the short stack is Bradley Smith, who bagged 2,655,000. Smith, from Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, has tied his best-ever finish at the WSOP and looks to improve upon his 2019 $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. third-place finish by spinning up his stack when play resumes.

Day 3 Play

Play began with 37 players hoping to finish on top and earn the gold bracelet. Eliminations came quickly at the beginning of the day, as Renan Bruschi, Todd Brunson, Patrick Leonard, and Karina Jett were among those unable to make the final table. The elimination of Gary Bolden in tenth saw the remaining nine players moved to one of the feature tables to play the remainder of the event.

Eric Rabl was the first to fall when his ace-king suited ran into Jonah Seewald flopping the nut flush in Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better. Rabl's elimination burst the official final table, and play continued with eight.

Yuval Bronshtein was next to go, finishing in eighth place when his two pair ran into the higher two pair of Pupillo in Stud.

Philip Sternheimer saw his night end next, finishing in seventh place after being unable to find a low in Stud against Smith and Timothy Frazin.

Seewald went out in sixth after he could not improve in Omaha against Pupillo and Frazin.

Philip Sternheimer bowed out in sixth after Smith and Frazin chopped his final bets up.

Frazin then exited in fifth after a brutal final stretch. Just a few minutes after Smith scooped a big hand against him with a rivered boat and low in Omaha, Frazin's two pair ran into Pupillo's trip fours that were made on seventh street in Stud.

Almost two hours of four-handed play elapsed before Omar Mehmood exited in fourth place after he was unable to complete his draws against Le in Stud. With ten one-hour levels having already been played and three players still alive, it was announced that play would continue into Day 4.

Pupillo bet fourth street and called when Frazin raised. On fifth street, Frazin got his last 140,000 into the middle and Pupillo called.

Pupillo turned over 64 and he was going for a low, while Frazin showed K10 and tried to hold on to the high. Pupillo received a 4 on sixth street and Frazin found 2. However, Pupillo turned over a 4 on fourth street to catch up with trip fours, while Frazin peeled an inconsequential 5 and hit the rail in fifth place for $47,721.

Jonah Seewald

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Jonah Seewald raised and Nick Pupillo was the lone caller from the button to see a flop of K107. Seewald check-called the flop and did so again on the 9 turn. Both players checked the 9 river and Pupillo turned over AJ43. Seewald looked at his cards and shook his head before he tossed his hand in the muck to give the pot to the ace high.

A few moments later, action was three ways on a flop of 5K5. Timothy Frazin checked the flop and Seewald bet. Pupillo and Frazin called to see 7 on the turn. Frazin checked again and Seewald committed his last 130,000. Both remaining players called and the river was 2.

Frazin fired a bet on the turn and Pupillo called to see a showdown. Pupillo had A973 and Frazin had KKQ4, while Seewald showed J862. Frazin took half the pot with kings full of fives and Pupillo took the other half with the low. There was nothing for Seewald and he was out of the tournament in sixth place for $34,836.

Frazin bet fourth and fifth street and Smith came along for both before Frazin checked sixth street. Smith bet and Frazin called to see a down card.

Frazin bet seventh street and Smith called to get to showdown. Smith turned over 653 for a flush and a low before Frazin turned over K88 to negate his flush with a full house. Sternheimer turned over A5 and peeled slowly with a six needed to stay alive. It was 10 and Frazin and Smith split the pot while Sternheimer was out of the tournament in seventh place for $25,919.

Frazin was the bring in. Bolden then moved all in for his last 25,000. Sternheimer completed over the top, to which Frazin called.

Fourth street saw Frazin bet and Sternheimer call. Both players then checked fifth.

Sternheimer check-called bets from Frazin on sixth and seventh streets to complete the action. Sternheimer showed 1096 for a ten-high straight. Frazin turned over 323 for a wheel to lock up the low.

Bolden would need to beat a straight to remain in, and he turned over 43 to give himself a sweat. His final card was the A, though, and he exited in tenth.

Peter Brownstein: KJ54
Nghia Le: AQ102

The A river gave Le aces full of queens, and Brownstein's day ended with an 11th-place result.

"We're really 'Kessler'-ing up," said Timothy Frazin from the other table, explaining that it was his new term for moving up the ladder.

Rabl already had a seven-five low, meaning Baker would need to win the high to remain in. Rabl's final card ended those hopes, however, as he showed the A for a flush. Baker's 8 was meaningless as he gracefully exited in 12th place.

Just prior to Baker's elimination, well-known Tournament Director Paul Campbell was eliminated in 13th place.
