Rand Takes Down Pot With Small Pocket Pair

Nível 18 : Limits 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Kevin Rand’s pocket pair emerged victorious on the first hand at his table after the break.

After action folded to him, Rand called on the button. Bobby Espina, however, raised out of the big blind once the small button folded. Rand promptly called.

The flop produced Q105 and Espina led out with a bet, which Rand called. The 5 hit the turn, and Espina once again bet only to see Rand call to bring the action to the river, which saw 10 to double pair the board.

Both players checked their respective options.

“Ace,” Espina said as he tabled A3.

Rand showed 66 to take down the pot.

Hameed's Aces Win a Big One

Nível 18 : Limits 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Action folded to the player in the small blind who raised, prompting a call from Khalid Hameed in the big blind before seeing a flop of 310J.

The small blind player checked and Hameed put in a bet only to see a check-raise from his opponent. Hameed put in another raise to his opponent who came back with another raise of his own, making it four bets on the flop. Hameed called to see the 6 hit the turn.

Both players checked through the turn to see the 6 fall on the river. The small blind player check-called a bet from Hameed who quickly tabled AA. His opponent tossed his cards toward the muck and a big pot got pushed Hameed's way.

Some of the Best Poker Players Who Haven't Won a WSOP Bracelet

WSOP Bracelet Winners
WSOP Bracelet Winners

While winning a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet is one of the greatest accomplishments a poker player can achieve, many of the greatest and most successful players in the game have yet to put one on their wrists.

PokerNews has had a decent track record with highlighting players without bracelets who have gone on to win them. Jason Koon won a maiden bracelet in 2021 after making the "Best Without a Bracelet" list that year, while Dan Smith and Alex Foxen both found bracelets in 2022 to be removed from that year's list.

With the 2023 WSOP happening now, here's a look at some of the best players who have yet to add a World Series bracelet to their long lists of accolades.

Maloney Splits Battle With Rosengarten

Nível 18 : Limits 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Brock Maloney found himself involved in consecutive hands with Robert Rosengarten, one of the more cheerful and friendly players remaining in the field.

Rosengarten previously got Maloney to fold in the big blind with 1010 on a flop of 265 by firing a bet, and then the two engaged in a battle once again on the very next hand.

With Maloney now in the small blind, Rosengarten raised in late position. The button folded, Maloney flatted, and the big blind got out of the way to bring heads-up action.

“He’s a nice guy,” Rosengarten said of Maloney as the dealer put down a flop of 636. The remark brought smiles and chuckles from the table.

Maloney checked the flop, and Rosengarten bet, only to see Maloney make a check-call. The turn brought out Q, which slowed the action as both players checked. The dealer placed K hit the river, and Maloney bet into Rosengarten, who appeared anguished as he looked at his cards.

“Over cards,” Rosengarten said as he folded JJ face up.

Min Wins the Max

Nível 18 : Limits 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Action folded to the button who raised only to face a three-bet from Jason Min in the small blind. The player on the button called to see a flop of QAJ.

Min bet into the button player who answered with a raised but Min answered back with another raise of his own prompting a call from the button before watching as the dealer burned and turned the 4.

Min bet and the button player called before a board pairing J fell on the river, prompting both players to check through to showdown.

Min tossed the KQ face up into the middle of the table and his opponent mucked, awarding the pot to Min.

Knight Battles Through Three to Rack Up a Big One

Nível 19 : Limits 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Raising from late position Jesse Knight received three callers, cutoff Dana Davidson, button Alex Torry, and Bill Klein in the small blind.

A 6A5 was checked through to Knight. His bet folded Klein, but elicited a raise from Torry, which Knight and Davidson called.

Two more checks led to another Knight bet on a 6 turn, with calls from Torry and Davidson.

When the river rolled over K again it was checked to Knight, who bet again, with Davidson folding, and Torry putting in the call. Knight showed AK for three pair, only two of which he needed to make Torry throw his cards in the muck, and Knight to take down a 172,000 pot.

Sylvia Doubles Up to Keep One Step Ahead of the Bubble

Nível 19 : Limits 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

The player on the button raised, and after flipping an imaginary coin in the air and having it land tails, the small blind folded. That left Jesse Sylvia with barely more than two bets behind to raise. The button called and they headed to the flop with Sylvia's tournament hopes on the line.

When the flop rolled off 5Q7 the button announced bet, and Sylvia's lone $1,000 chip beat the button's into the pot.
