Welcome to Event#69: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball World Championship!
Today marks the start of Event #69: No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship at the 2023 World Series of Poker. The buy-in level and game variant always produces one of the most star-studded fields of the entire summer and the 2023 edition is expected to be no different.
The tournament will take place here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas and is scheduled to begin play at 2 p.m. local time with players set to play ten 60-minute levels on Day 1. Late registration will be available until the start of Day 2 Friday.
Pedro Bromfman took the event down last year by beating out a field of 111 entries to take home his first WSOP gold bracelet and $294,616 and with this year's field sizes routinely eclipsing the sizes of previous years, we could easily see the eventual champion going home with well over what winners have taken home in years past.

Darren Elias and Chance Kornuth are seated at a table together and just one table over, Chad Eveslage, Alex Livingston and Poker Hall of Famer Billy Baxter share a table.

Holley Lays It Down

John Holley opened to 1,100 from under the gun and was called by a player in the cutoff.
Both players took two cards after which Holley tossed out a bet of 3,000. His opponent responded by raising to 15,000, sending Holley into the tank. After some time and with a "nice bluff" he tossed his hand away to concede the pot.

Deeb Takes His Seat, Immediately Drags a Pot

A player in late position raised to 900 and got called by Shaun Deeb in the small blind and the player in the big blind.
Deeb took one, the big blind took two and the original raiser took one.
Deeb and the big blind checked and the player in late position continued with a bet of 3,200. Deeb verified the amount before calling and the big blind folded.
Deeb tabled 9♣8♣7♥4♦3♥, good for a nine-eight low and causing the late position player to muck his cards.

Sheikhan Finds a Fold

A player opened to 800 from the cutoff before Shawn Sheikhan three-bet to 2,700 out of the small blind. Action folded back to the original raiser, who made the call.
Sheikhan stood pat before checking to his opponent who drew one. The cutoff made it 8,000 to go and, after a few moments thought, Sheikhan mucked to take a small hit to his stack.

Holley Takes One Off Elias

Darren Elias raised to 1,100 from the small blind and faced a three-bet from John Holley in the big blind.
Elias called to get to the draw where both players stayed pat.
Elias checked over to Holley who bet out 2,000. Elias thought briefly before tossing in a call and watching Holley turn over the 10♦9♥6♠5♥3♠ for a ten-nine low.
Elias squeezed his cards one last time before sliding them into the muck and sending the pot to Holley.
