Taylor Eliminates Chanthabouasy with a Straight

Thomas Taylor raised from the hijack and Steve Chanthabouasy three-bet in the cutoff. The button called and Taylor came along as well to see a flop of 9♠6♥5♣. The action checked to the button who tossed in a bet and Taylor check-raised. Chanthabouasy stuck in his last 2,000 chips and the button also called.

The turn was the 7♣ and Taylor led out with a bet. The button folded and the two remaining hands were tabled. Taylor showed 10♦8♦ for a straight while Chanthabouasy was drawing slim with J♠10♠.

The river was the K♣ and Taylor collected the main pot with a straight, eliminating Chanthabouasy.

Painter's Eights Hold Up

Jameson Painter three-bet from the big blind, Okamura four-bet, and Painter capped it. The two players both had the last 5,000 chips in the middle before the flop was dealt and Okamura was at risk again.

A completed board of 6x5x3x4x10x was spread across the felt and Kuenwai Lo led out with a bet from the big blind. Joe McKeehen called on his left and Michael Thorpe gave it some thought before folding. Lo tabled 8♦6♦ for a pair of sixes but McKeehen held K♥10♦ for a pair of tens.

"Ahh, big trouble," Thorpe mumbled to himself, stating that he folded a winner.

On the next hand, Lo raised it up from the small blind and McKeehen called in the big blind. The flop fell 10♠4♥3♠ and Lo check-called a bet from McKeehen.

The turn brought the 5♦ and Lo checked again. McKeehen tossed in another bet and Lo check-raised this time which McKeehen called. The river was the 6♠ and Lo led out with a bet. McKeehen shook his head as he pitched his K♦10♥ into the muck.

"Same board, exact same board."

Syzmaszek Wins and Maurer Less, Mizrachi Stuck Between

Kenneth Maurer kicked off the action with a raise on the button which was met with another raise from Matt Szymaszek in the small blind. Michael Mizrachi called in the big blind, as did Maurer, exclaiming his surprise at being raised.

The flop rolled Q♠2♣8♥ and Szymaszek bet, getting a call from both of his opponents.

The turn peeled the 7♦ and again Szymaszek bet, Mizrachi folded, and Maurer made the call. Heads up they both saw the A♥. Szymaszek slowed down with a check and Maurer checked behind.

Szymaszek rolled over the 9♥9♠ and Maurer launched his hand into the much, as Szymaszek's nines were good.
