Babb Sends Opponent to the Rail

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

A player in late position raised to 8,500 and got called by Ralph Babb on the button and the player in the big blind, leading to a 59J flop.

The big blind checked over to the late position player who continued with a bet of 11,500. Babb decided on a raise to 30,000 before the big blind folded.

The late position player verified the amount before deciding to go all in for only a few thousand more and Babb quickly called, sending the pair to a runout with his opponent at risk.

Late Position: Q9
Ralph Babb: QJ

Babb's opponent was drawing thin with his two pair outs no good. He'd need a nine to win or running straight cards to chop the pot.

The K did provide some hope for a chop, but the river came the 7 and sealed the late position player's fate as Babb sent him to the rail with a better pair.

Taylor and Nia Make A Gentlemen's Agreement, Taylor Pays Up

Nível 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Nia raised from early position to 5,500 and got one caller in Stuart Taylor from late position leading to a K53 flop.

Nia tossed out a bet of 3,000 and Taylor called, sending the pair to the 3 turn.

Nia continued with another bet, this time to 5,000. Taylor asked, "Why so small?' before thinking briefly and deciding to toss in another call to bring the 10 out on the river.

Nia continued for a third time but this time for a much larger bet of 35,000 and sent Taylor into the tank.

While working out the hand, Taylor engaged into a friendly conversation with Nia that eventually led the pair to an agreement; if Taylor did, in fact, decide to fold, he would show his hand and if his hand was better than Nia's, Nia would have to show and pay Taylor $100.

Conversely, if it was shown that Taylor's hand was the second best of the two, Taylor would have to send $50 across the table to Nia.

A clock was eventually called by another player at the table and as the clock counted down to zero, Taylor folded and tabled the QQ face up.

Nia, as agreed upon, turned over the K3 to show that he did, in fact, have the better holdings and with that, Taylor, a man of his word, took out $50 and paid Nia in what became a very fun and friendly confrontation.
