Welcome to Day 1 of Event #44: $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Stefan Lehner
Stefan Lehner

Welcome to the opening day of Event #44: $3,000 Buy-In No-Limit Hold'em inside the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. It is the third $3,000 event of the 2023 World Series of Poker. This prestigious tournament will see a star-studded field come out to play for another shot at taking home a WSOP bracelet.

Last year saw Austria's Stefan Lehner beat a field of 1,240 players to claim his first bracelet and career best score of $558,616. Lehner overcame a difficult final table last year, featuring former bracelet winners David Miscikowski, Joey Weissman and Davide Suriano, before defeating Toby Boas heads-up.

To defend his title, Lehner will likely have to outlast an even larger field because of the record-breaking fields seen at the 2023 WSOP.

The action will get underway at 10 a.m. local time inside the Paris ballroom. Players will be given a starting stack of 40,000 chips with the blinds starting at 100/100. The levels will be 60 minutes in length with a 20-minute break after every two Levels. A total of 10 levels will be played on Day 1 before action resumes on Day 2 on Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time.

A 75-minute dinner break is also on the schedule after Level 6, which is expected to be around 4.40 p.m. Late registration is possible until the end of Level 12 and the following break, which should be 12:15 p.m. on Day 2. Only one reentry is allowed on this event.

Keep it locked here as the PokerNews live reporting team will bring you all of the updates throughout the tournament and until a new champion is crowned.
