Corey Thompson told PokerNews that he was down to his last big blind before the break but had managed to find a triple up when play resumed.
He was soon all in again for his last 1,800 from early position. An opponent three-bet before folding to another player's four-bet. The cards then went on their back.
Corey Thompson: J♠9♦
Opponent: A♠K♦
Thompson made two pair on the J♠9♠2♦ flop to his delight.
"They don't call me Corey the Cinderella for nothing," joked Thompson to the table and he scooped in another triple up after the 4♣2♣ turn and river.
On the following hand, Thompson opened to 1,000 and was called by the big blind. On the 10♦9♦4♣ flop, the big blind check-called Thompson's jam for around 5,000.

Big Blind: 4x2x
Thompson had two overcards and an open-ended straight draw but was behind the big blind's pair. The 9♠ turn brought in some counterfeit outs but Thompson's hopes of a Cinderella story quickly vanished as the board completed with the A♣.
The players remaining in the Tournament of Champions have been sent on another 20-minute break. When they return, they will play two more levels before the 75-minute dinner break commences.
A player in middle position raised to 1,000 which was called in two spots. Connor Stuewe squeezed to 11,500 from the big blind deterring everyone but the cutoff who elected to four-bet jam the remainder of their stack.
Snapped off by Stuewe the cards were tabled.

As the board ran out 3♦7♦K♠6♠7♠ Stuewe earned the full double up leaving his opponent with a mere 1200 to work with.

Jamin Stokes opened to 1,000 from middle position and was called by Maurice Hawkins from the hijack.
Stokes bet 5,000 on the 6♦5♦2♥ flop, which was enough to put Hawkins all in, as he had 3,500 behind. Hawkins called for his tournament life.
Maurice Hawkins: 9♣7♥
Jamin Stokes: J♦10♣
Stokes hadn't connected with the flop but his jack-high meant he was ahead of Hawkins. The A♦J♥ runout was of no aid to Hawkins and Stokes eliminated the WSOP Circuit Ring record holder.
Philip Shing limped in from the small blind, and the big blind checked his option. Shing checked the J♠6♦2♣ flop and the big blind bet 800. Shing then raised to 2,200 and was called.
Shing sized up to 3,800 on the 4♥ river, pushing out the big blind.
On a nearby table, Ari Engel opened to 1,000 and was called by the blinds. He continued for 1,300 on the A♣8♥5♣ flop and only the big blind called.
The big blind then check-folded after Engel bet 4,000 on the 9♥ turn.
The hijack opened to 1,000 before the cutoff three-bet to 3,000. Brendan Shiller called from the button and Scott Smile followed suit from the small blind. The hijack also called to see the 10♠7♦7♥ flop. Action checked to Shiller, who bet 6,500. Only Smile called.
The 7♣ checked through to the 4♦ river.
"I'll keep it small because I like you," said Smile as he bet 7,000.
"I'll pay you off," replied Shiller before the players tabled their cards.
Smile had the A♦10♥ while Shiller had the K♥10♣. Both players had a full house, sevens full of tens and they split the pot.
"I got lucky on the turn," commented Shiller as the spoils were being shared.
