Nakamura Tries to Empty Chambers

Nível 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

After Ian Steinman limped under the gun, Walter Chambers potted it to 135,000 in the cutoff, which was then re-potted to 450,000 by Tamon Nakamura in the big blind.

Steinman folded, but Chambers called to see a flop of 442.

Nakamura bet the pot, sliding 975,000 chips forward, leaving himself just about 100,000 behind.

Chambers thought briefly and then folded, sending a healthy pot to his Japanese opponent.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Per Hildebrand raised to 75,000 and was called by Tamon Nakamura, as well as Ian Steinman on the button.

The Q fell on the river and Hildebrand checked again. Nakamura now bet 200,000 and Steinman tanked for a moment before calling. Hildebrand quickly folded.

Nakamura turned over AQQ2 for the full house on the river and Steinman mucked to drop to a short stack.

Suzuki Calls Correctly With Deuces...In Single Draw!

Ryutaro Suzuki

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Renan Bruschi raised to 80,000 in early position and got a call from Ryutaro Suzuki in the small blind.

Each player drew one and Suzuki checked. Bruschi then bet 185,000 which sent Suzuki into the tank.

After about a minute of deliberation, he made what turned out to be an incredible call, as Bruschi showed 8x7x6x6x4x for a pair of sixes that he tried to bluff through.

However, Suzuki had called him with 9x8x7x2x2x, a pair of deuces, which were good to take a sizeable and impressive pot.

Jason Pedigo raised to 100,000 from under the gun and Ryutaro Suzuki called in the cutoff. Both players drew one.

Pedigo checked after the draw and Suzuki then announced he was all in. Pedigo snap called for his last 550,000 as Suzuki showed a pair of sevens. Pedigo had 9-8-6-3-2 and doubled up.

A heated debate has arisen at the table about when to take a break. Pedigo argued the break should be now, while Ian Steinman wanted to break in an hour. The tournament floor was called over and it was ruled play will continue until the end of this level.

Steinman Continues to Succeed on the Short Stack

Nível 26 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Ian Steinman
Ian Steinman

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Ian Steinman, who has battled back from as few as 30,000 chips to reach this point of the tournament was again on the short stack, but it continues to not be a problem for him.

In a recent hand of No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw, Steinman moved all in for 385,000 from early position over a 120,000 chip under-the-gun open from Tamon Nakamura.

Each player drew one card and revealed what they were drawing to.

Ian Steinman: 8x5x4x3x/Xx
Tamon Nakamura: 9x7x6x4x/Xx

Nakamura showed his draw first, pairing his 7x, meaning that any card other than an eight would give Steinman the win.

While an Ax wouldn't be great most times in an all-in situation, it certainly was here to give Steinman a double-up.

Chambers Shows the Spade

Nível 26 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Walter Chambers: XxXx/10A85
Tamon Nakamura: XxXx/10859 - folded on sixth street
Per Hildebrand: XxXx/7K5 - folded on fifth street

Per Hildebrand completed before Tamon Nakamura raised. Walter Chambers called, as did Hildebrand.

Nakamura bet on fourth street and both opponents called. Chambers opened the betting on fifth and only Nakamura called this time.

Chambers bet again on sixth and Nakamura leaned over the table getting a good look at his board as he tanked for about a minute. Nakamura eventually gathered his cards and sent them into the muck.

"Show one time. It's good for the game," Renan Bruschi told Chambers, who showed the 2.

"Spade and a low," Chambers said.
