One year removed from a rough summer, Daniel Negreanu is fighting his way back to within striking distance in the Player of the Year race — sort of — and he's doing so with large field event success.
At the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP), the Poker Hall of Famer lost $1.1 million and was never in contention for Player of the Year. He isn't really in contention yet this year, but he isn't too far off from getting to that point.

Peters Is the Bubble Boy

David Peters was in early position against Tetsuma Ishizu in the small blind.
The pot stood at approximately 200,000 as the board read 5♦8♦2♣. Ishizu led out for 100,000 and Peters called.
The 8♠ fell on the turn pairing the board. Ishizu jammed all in for 370,000, covering Peters by just 3,000 chips, on the stone bubble.
Peters went into the tank for several minutes as the clock had been paused for the hand-for-hand play. Eventually making the call for his tournament life, the hand went to showdown.
