Event #21: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout here at the World Series of Poker hosted by Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas received a tremendous turn out with 2,046 total entries, which is only made more impressive when considering each competitor is only allowed a single entry. That field was whittled down to just 188 hopefuls by the time of bag 'n’ tag.

A total prize pool of $2,731,410 was generated and all eyes will be on the $406,403 for first place.

Ending the evening with the chip lead just shy of a million chips was Hao Zhou, who was closely followed by the likes of Turbo Nguyen and Taylor Paur, who also bagged commanding stacks.

Plenty of others remain in contention including Chino Rheem, Jonas Wexler, Mustapha Kanit, and Johnnie “Vibes” Moreno moving into Day 2 with workable stacks. The latter two were seated together for a large portion of the day but seemed to avoid clashing directly.
