Barbero Celebrates a Scoop

Having defended out of the blinds against a raise by Nacho Barbero, Christopher Stephan and Robert Yass check-called bets on the K♦Q♠7♣ flop and 8♥ turn. They both checked the 3♦ on the river and Barbero bet again.

Only Stephen called while Yass folded and Barbero jumped out of his chair in excitement. "Finally I scoop a pot after getting scooped all day!" he exclaimed as he exposed his A♠Q♣Q♥4♠ for a set of queens and second nut low.

"What if he shows you ace-deuce?" another player remarked and Barbero instantly replied: "I bet you a million dollars he doesn't have ace-deuce." That bet was not verbally accepted but Barbero's read was right, as Stephan tossed the cards into the muck.

Not long ago, David Williams had misread his hand and didn't see a straight against the set of aces of Bryce Yockey, who joked back "I wish you wouldn't have tabled it". Since then, Williams had been chipping up while Yockey dropped to a shorter stack.

In the latest hand, Williams called bets by Robert Campbell on a 10♣8♣2♥5♣10♦ board and his A♦A♥Q♦3♠ was good for the low, as Campbell had the A♣K♥J♣7♥ for an inferior low but ace-high flush.

Wang Survives in Three-Way Showdown

With most of his shorter stack already invested prior to and after the 10♠5♦3♣, Yong Wang was all-in for 11,000 out of the small blind on the J♥ turn. Johannes Becker called out of the big blind and so did Ari Engel in the cutoff. The K♣ on the river was checked through by the two active players.

Becker showed his A♠Q♣8♣2♠ for broadway while Engel exposed his 4♥3♥2♦2♣ for a missed low wrap. Wang then slowly rolled over his A♥Q♥Q♦7♣ for broadway and chopped the entire pot with Becker.

The flop came Q♠6♠3♦ and Hennigan would check-call a bet from Radanov, which he would do again on the K♦ turn.

The 10♥ river would go check-check and Hennigan tabled A♦K♣10♥5♦ for two pair, prompting Radanov to muck.

Shak Denied a Scoop; Chops With Kerbel

Three ways to the 8♦3♦2♣ flop, Dan Shak and Christopher Stephan checked to Jay Kerbel on the button who bet and received two calls. After the Q♥ turn, only Shak check-called another bet by Kerbel while Stephan folded.

The 3♠ river saw Shak check again and he instantly called a bet by Kerbel, who revealed his A♦A♠8♥6♥ for aces up with a eight-six low. Shak had the superior low with A♥7♠5♥4♣ and missed out on a scoop with his superior low and missed full wrap.

Wang Loses It All to Velador in Two Hands; Engel Gets Very Short

Jose Luis Velador raised and Yuri Dzivielevski reraised on the button. Yong Wang then made it four bets in the small blind and Johannes Becker called in the big blind, as did Velador and Dzivielevski. On the K♦10♠5♠ flop, Wang bet and Becker called, Velador raised and Dzivielevski folded while Wang and Becker stuck around.

That led them to the 7♣ turn on which Wang bet again with very few chips behind. Becker folded and Velador was in the tank. "If I bust you, I give you a fair percent of the cash and if you bust me, you give me three per cent?!" Wang suggested as both players were nearly even in chips. Velador called regardless and they only exposed them when the 9♠ fell on the river.

Velador tabled his K♥Q♠J♥8♠ for a flush and that beat Wong's A♦K♠10♥2♥, who was left with just 5,000 in chips.

One hand later, Wang was all-in before the flop and another four-way pot unfolded with Becker, Velador and Ari Engel involved. Engle bet the 10♥8♣5♦ flop and earned calls from Becker and Velador. The 8♠ turn was checked to Engel, who bet and Becker folded. Velador tank-called and led the Q♦ on the river.

That sent Engel deep into the tank. Wang had already paid his massage therapist and gathered his belongings, then walked away from the table to give Velador a fist bump with the words "good luck" on his way out, leaving several players at the table puzzled.

Engel was still in the tank beyond that for nearly four minutes before he eventually called with a shorter stack behind.

Velador revealed Q♣Q♠J♣5♠ for queens full of eights, Engel was scooped with the A♦10♣9♦3♦ and the K♥9♠6♥2♠ of Wang were shown as per all-in showdown rule.

Quads and a Scoop for Lamb

Ben Lamb raised from early position and was three-bet by Yarron Bendor from the button. Lamb called and the players took a flop heads-up of 8♦2♣2♦.

Lamb check-called a bet from Bendor and the 6♦ hit the turn, which would check through.

Lamb lead the 9♥ river and was called by Bendor.

"I have quads for the high," Lamb said, while tabling A♦10♥2♥2♠. Bendor sent his hand into the muck giving Lamb the scoop and some much-needed life.

Chris Tryba was spotted on his way out of the tournament area and his cards were already pulled towards the muck while his chips in the one seat were moved over to the other side of the table, where Yarron Bendor collected them to become the far biggest stack at the table.

The K♣J♥8♠9♥Q♣ board was still showing and the A♦K♥Q♦10♣ of Bendor had it all on the turn and river for broadway to score the knockout.
