Given this is the first time the WSOP has run an event solely dedicated to Badugi, there was no clear consensus on what entry numbers would look like. After seven levels, however, the field has swelled to 433, larger than other $1,500 WSOP draw game fields such as last year's 2-7 limit triple draw. With late registration open through Level 9, those numbers will only continue to grow with a not inconceivable chance that the tournament tops 500 entries.
Scott Seiver bet from the cut-off and got two callers. After the first draw he bet once more and one opponent folded.
Seiver stood pat and James Hoeppner on the button, drew one. Seiver bet again, Hoeppner called. Once more Seiver stood pat and Hoeppner took one.
Seiver bet a final time, got another call, and mucked when Hoeppner showed 8♠5♣4♦3♥.
