Wolfe Plays the Hero

Nível 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Kelly Wolfe
Kelly Wolfe

Kelly Wolfe opened the action under the gun to 3,000. Action folded all the way to the blinds who both made the call. The players were off to a flop three ways.

The 52K flop landed and the small blind checked. The big blind only waited a moment before going all in for 14,000 chips. Wolfe made the call and so did the small blind.

The 10 rolled off on the turn and the small blind took the initiative and led out for 20,000. Wolfe called pretty quickly and the two remaining players went to a river with the third all in and at risk.

The 5 river hit the felt and the small blind went into the tank for about a minute before putting out a bet of 25,000.

Wolfe seemed to have a tough decision on his hands but eventually put in the money.

The small blind shook his head and tabled A6 for a missed flush and Ace high. The big blind, who was all in, turned over J8 for another missed flush and Wolfe tabled KJ for just top pair.

After the great river call, Wolfe dragged a nice pot that gave him tons of life in this tournament.

When you hold the record for the most World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, there are perks.

For Phil Hellmuth, whose 16 bracelets (and counting) may never be touched, one of those perks is his own personal break room at Horseshoe Las Vegas. That's a nice benefit especially on 90-minute dinner breaks.

Hellmuth granted PokerNews access to his small but intimate break room, which is in an undisclosed location.

Lisa Taylor
Lisa Taylor

On a flop of 464 and with action checked to him, a player in middle position bet 1,000. Lisa Taylor called from the hijack, as did both blinds.

The turn came 8 which brought no action. Action was again checked to Taylor on the 6 river, and she bet 3,000. Both blinds folded. "It's on me?" asked the player in middle position before tossing in a call.

"Unless you have quad sixes..." said Taylor, turning over 44 for quads to wow her table as her opponent showed A10.
