Lulov Sends Lococo VERY Deep Into the Tank

Nível 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Alejandro "Papo MC" Lococo
Alejandro "Papo MC" Lococo

In a hand that lasted over ten minutes, Alejandro Lococo raised to 25,000 in the cutoff and was called by Rahul Rastogi on the button.

Brandon Lulov then three-bet from the small blind to 110,000. Lococo cut out and counted several hundred thousand chips in front of himself, then four-bet to 258,000.

Rastogi got out of the way and folded, then literally got out of the way as he stood up from between the two combatants.

More players at the table would stand or wander for a bit as Lulov went into the tank for a couple of minutes before five-betting to 475,000, leaving just over 900,000 behind.

Lococo then went even deeper into his personal tank as over the span of over five minutes while he deeply thought through his decision, he kicked off his slides, examined Lulov and his chip stack, stood up briefly then sat down again, examined Lulov further, then slowly stroked the thick hair of his beard below his bottom lip.

Ultimately, the 7th place finisher in last year's Main Event folded to send the dramatic pot to Lulov.

Bakri Makes the Nuts, Buzgon Makes a Big Fold

Nível 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action started on the river in a heads-up pot between Martino Bakri and Daniel Buzgon. The board showed {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

From out of position, Buzgon bet 133,000 into the pot of around 200,000. Bakri raised to 325,000 and send Buzgon deep into the tank.

After thinking for a couple minutes, Buzgon let it go.

"If you show, I'll show," said Bakri. Buzgon had already pushed his cards forward when the offer was made.

"I'll tell the truth," said Bakri, accepting the offer to the best he could.

"I had the nuts," said Buzgon, who reached out for his own cards and showed {a-}{10-}.

"I had {9-}{10-}," said Buzgon, and he celebrated his big fold and held his head in his hands to recover.

Halverson Takes From Schindler

Nível 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With roughly 70,000 in the middle on a {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, Jake Schindler check-called for 70,000 in the big blind against Mitchell Halverson in the cutoff. The {9-Spades} landed on the turn and Schindler check-called again, this time for 130,000.

The {9-Hearts} completed the board, Schindler checked, and Halverson bet 300,000. Schindler briefly contemplated while enjoying his massage, but ultimately sent his cards into the muck to concede the pot. Halverson added to his stack and continues his quest to best his deep 15th-place finish in last year's Main Event.

Old-School Matusow "Blowup" Sends Him Packing

Nível 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

On the streamed outer feature table, Mike Matusow with {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} found himself out of position in a heads-up pot against Mikolaj Zawadzki with {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} on a board of {5-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Matusow checked on the turn and Zawadzki checked back.

The river brought the {k-Clubs} to give Zawadzki a flush and Matusow led out for 70,000 with his ace-high. Zawadzki raised to 175,000. Matusow decided to bluff with a three-bet jam for 390,000 total, sending Zawadzki into the tank.

"All in? All in? Matusow with a 2022 blowup maybe?!" Lon McEachern exclaimed from the commentator booth. "Old-school Mike!"

"This is an interesting line by Matusow," added Jamie Kerstetter.

Zawadzki stayed in the tank despite getting great odds to call. He eventually called and Matusow tossed in his cards after seeing the bad news.

"I went for it. I didn't think you had a flush. Nice hand," Matusow said quietly.

Nível 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With roughly 400,000 in the pot on a {8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board, the small blind checked over to Daniel Buzgon, who bet around 750,000, which covered the small blind's stack of about 700,000.

The small blind deliberated for well over a minute before finally laying his cards down.

After starting his day with a respectable 404,000, Buzgon is well about the chip average (850,000) with about 1,150,000 chips in his stack.

McDermott Hero Calls Vampan to Double

Nível 18 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Timothy McDermott alerted the PokerNews reporting team to a recent hand that saw him double up in a tough spot.

After he raised to 25,000 on the button and was called by Daniel Vampan in the small blind and the player in the big blind, action was checked on the {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop to McDermott, who bet 30,000. Vampan then check-raised to 125,000, the big blind folded, and McDermott called.

On the {k-Clubs} turn, Vampan jammed for 322,000 effective and McDermott said he went deep into the tank, pondering his decision for a couple of minutes before clicking the proverbial 'call' button.

Vampan showed {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a turned pair of kings with a flush draw, while McDermott showed {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a flopped top pair.

The river {8-Spades} changed nothing and McDermott added a big chunk to his stack with a gutsy call.

Jon O'Mara: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

O'Mara's opponent had turned the flush, O'Mara turned top two. The river was the tournament-saving {a-Spades} for O'Mara, giving him the full house to lock up the double.

"Best hand won," said his opponent.

"I got lucky," shared O'Mara.

"Happens to everyone," was the reply.
