Hunichen Sent Home

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

A player opened to 6,500 from under the gun and Chris Hunichen moved all in from one seat over. The cutoff then re-jammed their stack and action folded back around to the under the gun player, who made the call, covering both of his opponents.

Chris Hunichen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Cutoff Player: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Under the Gun Player: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

Hunichen had run straight into pocket rockets and would need a lot of help to survive. He could not find it on the {5-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Hearts} runout, ending his main event early on Day 3.

Jacobson Hits the Rail

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

All the chips went in the middle preflop between the two shorts stacks Joashua Jacobson and Christopher Kirshak, who had him slightly covered:

Joshua Jacobson: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Christopher Kirshak: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Jacobson found at first a board {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and had good hopes for a double up but the river fell the {j-Hearts} to give two pair to Kirshak and eliminate him from the tournament.

Biles Among the Big Stacks After Doubling Through Barnes

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Oliver BIles
Oliver BIles

Oliver Biles arrived at his new table with a massive stack and recalled a hand in which he doubled through Wendell Barnes. According to Biles, he three-bet to 16,000 with the {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} on the button and was called by the initial raiser Wendell Barnes in the hijack.

On a {a-Clubs}{k-}{8-Clubs} flop, Barnes check-called a bet and then check-raised the {q-} turn to around 130,000 for Biles to call. The river paired the board with another queen and Barnes check-called the shove by Biles for 188,000 with {j-}{10-} for a straight to get shown kings full.

Bruschi Folds River

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Renan Bruschi opened to 6,000 from middle position and was called by Mario Navarro and Hamid Nourafchan from the button and big blind respectively.

Action checked to the Navarro on the {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and he bet 4,500. Only Bruschi called.

Bruschi then check-called for 10,000 on the {10-Spades} turn. Bruschi checked the {q-Diamonds} river and his opponent sized up to 32,000. Bruschi mulled over his options before deciding to let his hand go.

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Three players were on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Dario Sammartino was in position on the button and he bet 6,500. Chiraag Patel called from the big blind and the third player in the hand in middle position folded.

The turn was the {4-Spades}. Both players checked it. The river came the {j-Hearts}. Sammartino bet 25,000 into a pot of around 30,000. Patel took little time before he pitched his cards into the muck.

Simon Puts Matte to the Test

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

On a completed board of {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} Scott Matte was faced with a large bet from his opponent Wes Simon. The bet was 100,000 into the already sizable pot of 132,000 and Matte's tournament life was on the line.

After considerable time in the tank, Matte finally made the call and heard those sweet sweet words from Simon...

"Nice call," he said as he turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for one pair and straight blockers.

Matte then proudly turned over {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for just one pair of aces to take down the substantial pot for a full double up.

The Muck: Ike Haxton Takes on Barstool Sports' Poker Invasion

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
the muck poker
Ben \"Mintzy\" Mintz

Barstool Sports is beginning to have a stronger influence in the poker world, and Isaac Haxton isn't sure if that's a good thing or not. But many others — recreational players and pros alike — are fans of the media giant, and support the exposure Barstool brings to the game.

At the 2022 World Series of Poker, a number of Barstool personalities, some from the popular Cracking Aces poker podcast, competed in the Main Event. While most were felted before the end of Day 2, Adam "Smitty" Smith, aka "General Spank," will enter Saturday's Day 3 session with an above-average stack.

Shorr Makes Right Call

Nível 11 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The heads-up action was picked up with a complete board of {4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs} on the felt and around 100,000 already in the pot.

Shannon Shorr fired for 34,000 from middle position before his opponent, Douglas Arauj Ferreira in the hijack, put in a raise to 95,000. Shorr went into the tank for a minute or two, but eventually made the call, tossing in a single chip.

Ferreira showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a pair of kings, while Shorr turned over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for a set of kings, plenty to take the pot and build his chip stack even higher.
