Event #86: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship

Dia 1 Começado

Day 1 of Event #86: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship Kicks Off at 3 p.m.

As the 2022 World Series of Poker starts to wind down in its new home at the Bally's and Paris Las Vegas, there are still a few gold bracelets to be handed out over the last few days. Day 1 is about to begin in Event #86: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship is one of the marquee events that has been pushed toward the end of the schedule this summer.

The 6-max format will test the skills of every player leaving no place to hide on the table. And the $10,000 buy-in level will attract some of the best no-limit hold'em players from around the world. It could also be a summer-saver for those who have struggled over the course of the past seven weeks with a large prize pool expected up for grabs. Or it can be one last chance for those looking at the player of the year race to cement their spot as the sole winner.

Last year, Ben Yu outlasted a field of 329 entries in order to capture his fourth WSOP bracelet along with the first-place prize of $721,453. It was one of the toughest fields of the summer Yu said afterward and he defeated Nikita Kuznetsov in a quick heads-up battle.

The action is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. local time with 10 levels on tap for the opening day. Each starting stack will be granted with 60,000 chips and the blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 200 big blind ante. The levels will be 60 minutes in length throughout the event with a 15-minute break after every two levels. There will be no dinner break scheduled for Day 1.

This tournament will be played in a freezeout format with no re-entries permitted. Late registration will remain open until the start of Day 2 which will begin at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Another 10 levels are scheduled for Day 2 and the winner will be crowned late in the night on Day 3.

Keep it locked here as the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates over the course of the event.

Mateos Picks Up Kings Early On

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

With the tournament being a six-max format, play got underway at each table as long as there were two players present. That happened to be the case with Adrian Mateos as he sat across the table from a single opponent in the early going.

On a completed board of {9-}{8-}{7-}{9-}{10-}, Mateos was faced with a bet of 4,000 from his opponent. Mateos flicked in a call and his opponent showed {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}. That was no good as Mateos flipped over {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} for a better two pair to win the pot.

Milliard-Feral Hero Calls with Deuces

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Julian Milliard-Feral was heads-up in the blinds on a board reading {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Milliard-Feral checked from the small blind and his opponent tossed in a bet of 4,500 into a pot of around 9,000.

Milliard-Feral looked him up and his opponent was first curious as to who had to show first. He eventually tabled {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for air while Milliard-Feral scooped the pot with {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Boivin Runs Into Big Slick

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

There was a raise to 500 from the hijack and Thomas Boivin three-bet to 2,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to the hijack who called to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

Both players checked through to the {6-Hearts} on the turn and the {4-Clubs} on the river. The hijack finally threw in a bet of 3,500 and Boivin quickly called. His opponent tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for two pair and Boivin was forced to muck.
