Michael Prendergast
Michael Prendergast

It's Omaha time today, with Day 1 of Event #64: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack getting underway at 11:00 a.m. live from Paris Ballroom at the 2022 World Series of Poker.

Players can look forward to a fun event in this one, being a $600 entry with 2 re-entries optional to players until the end of late registration (by Level 13, approximately 6:55 p.m).

Last year's winner of the event was Michael Prendergast, who from just a $600 investment, made $127,348, not to mention the one-of-a-kind gold bracelet. Prendergast bested a field of 1,572 last time out and you should fully expect to see more record-breaking numbers in this years version of the event.

Players will enjoy 22 levels on Day 1, each being 30 minutes in length. They'll also be sent on 20-minute breaks every four levels, with the chance to grab a bite to each on a 75-minute dinner break after Level 12 (around 5:40 p.m).

All the action will be covered in live updates throughout the day, not to mention all other events currently running as we get into the latter stages of this year's WSOP, with the main event looming. Keep it here with PokerNews in this two-day event as a new champion at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas will be crowned.

Blain Straight Gets There Versus 'Four Pair'

Nível 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Dermot Blain
Dermot Blain

On a flop of {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Dermot Blain's opponent fired all in for 17,200 out of position. Blain, on the button, called and a player in the blinds folded their option.

Dermot Blain: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-}

Blain had a gut shot and an overpair versus two pair and an open ended straight draw. Blain, who was covered by 500 chips was the at risk player and on the {10-Hearts} turn, his opponent picked up a better two pair.

However, on the {j-Hearts} river Blain got there with a straight to trump his opponents hand. His opponent, jokingly said ''I had three pair, no wait, four pair!'', with bemusement as Blain raked in the double up.

Un-Liu-cky As Beamer Doubles Up

Nível 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Sasha Liu
Sasha Liu

Sasha Liu, known as 'PokerSasha' was involved in a pot with Mark Beamer. She had opened from early position and had been called by the hijack before Beamer completed from the big blind.

Three of them went to a flop of {5-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Liu continued for 3,500 when checked to. The hijack got out of the way and Beamer raised to 13,000. Liu made the call.

On a {k-Spades} turn, with just 10,500 behind on Beamer's stack, Liu moved all in and Beamer swiftly called.

Mark Beamer: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Sasha Liu: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Liu had outs versus the set of jacks of Beamer, but a {6-Hearts} river meant she didn't improve with her two pair and open ender, doubling Beamer up.

Gonzalez Sailing Back Above Starting Stack On His Boat, Forcing Tafesh Out

Nível 5 : 300/500, 500 ante
Alexander Tafesh
Alexander Tafesh

After Alexander Tafesh raised to 3,000 from the cutoff versus an under-the-gun limp, the small blind, Jose Gonzalez called. The under-the-gun player called too and they were three ways to a flop.

{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{8-Hearts} fell and Gonzalez lead for pot in the small blind, 10,500. It folded to Tafesh who made the call.

The {4-Clubs} on the turn came in and Gonzalez jammed his last 5,500 into the pot.

''That's the worst card in the deck for me I fold on...a four or an ace. Anything else I call'', said Tafesh.

Tafesh mucked his holding and Gonzalez kindly showed him {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for a full house.

Shack-Harris Fades To Double

Nível 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

With 35,000 chips already in the pot after a three-bet pre flop from the small blind versus Brandon Shack-Harris in the cutoff, a flop of {j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} came down. Brandon Shack-Harris jammed for 47,900 chips against the continuation bet from the small blind of 16,000. His opponent quickly called and cards were on their backs.

Brandon Shack-Harris: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The {5-Spades} and {10-Diamonds} turn and river didn't help his opponent and Shack-Harris now is one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Vivian Saliba
Vivian Saliba

Vivian Saliba is on fire at the moment, she has possibly the biggest stack in Bally's ballroom at the moment and she was just involved with another pot.

On a board of {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-}{a-Clubs}, she was betting from the big blind versus one opponent in a 20,000 chip pot. Saliba made it pot and her opponent quickly mucked.

Lin Somehow Gets Opponents To Fold...And He Has Quads

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Ren Lin
Ren Lin

On a board of {10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs} Ren Lin had moved all in for around 29,000 chips. He was out of position in the small blind versus the cutoff and button and when he jammed river they both made the fold.

With 100,000 at least already in the pot, Lin laughed as he took it down, showing his table mates {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for flopped quads.

Mizrachi Cracks Two Sets

Nível 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Mizrachi
Michael Mizrachi

On a flop of {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, three players got all of their chips in the middle including Michael Mizrachi. One player turned over a set of jacks while the other had a set of queens. Mizrachi boasted the {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for a straight draw.

The turn was the {a-Hearts} and Mizrachi nailed his straight to take the lead. The {3-Clubs} on the river was a brick and Mizrachi scored the double knockout and all of the chips.
