Among those in the hunt for the biggest prizes are Brian Cilley (622,000) who nursed an impressive stack all day despite being on the same table as UK pro Chris Moorman (96,000). Cilley's stack was above the one-million mark at one stage but he lost some ground late on. Moorman also progressed and will be looking to make amends for his recent runner-up finish in the $500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em event. However, he, like Cilley, slipped up towards the end play and he has plenty of work ahead of him.

Marc Olivo (1,052,000) almost claimed the overnight chip lead but Bradley Miller (1,165,000) pipped him to the post. Mark Seif (666,000), and 2021 WSOP Main Event finalist Jack Oliver (115,000) are just three other well-known players who bagged and tagged at the close of play.

Day 1 Highlights

The bubble burst at the end of Level 16 where Jason Turlo was the bubble boy after having his pocket aces cracked by Chu Yong Hui.

One of the hands of the day was when Rory Miller had his tournament life on the line preflop despite having a 77 big blind stack. His pocket aces held against pocket kings to skyrocket to the top of the chip standings.

Among those who reached the money places but are no longer in contention for the title include Euan McNicholas, and Ronnie Bardah.

The tournament will resume at 12 noon local time on Tuesday, June 28th in the orange section of Bally's. There will be ten levels of play which will be extended to 60-minute levels, with a 60-minute dinner break after Level 23. Blinds start at 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 big blind ante and escalate from there.
