Welcome to the live coverage of the opening day of Event #52: $2,500 Nine Game Mix 6-Handed, where the world’s best mixed-game specialists will compete for the illustrious WSOP Gold Bracelet at the 2022 World Series of Poker in its new home at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.
Last year Nicholas Julia outlasted 319 players and beat Kristian Lord heads-up to win $168,608 and the prestigious WSOP Gold Bracelet. This is the second year of this format and it is expected there will be a bigger turnout than the previous year.
Players will compete six-handed in a nine-game mix that includes No-Limit Hold’em, Seven Card Stud, Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Razz, Pot-Limit Omaha, Limit Hold’em, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw and 2-7 No Limit Draw.

Day 1 is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. local time and play ten 60-minute levels with a 15-minute break every two levels, with late registration closing at the end of Level 8. The game will change every six hands at each table and surviving players will return for Day 2 on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Paris Purple section is currently breaking tables of the COLOSSUS and as soon as enough space has been made, Day 1 of Event #52: $2,500 Nine Game Mix 6-Handed is set to get underway. Some players are already seated and await more news from the tournament officials on the busiest day of the 2022 WSOP in its new home at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.
This weekend, Golden Nugget Las Vegas is playing host to the $1,100 buy-in, $1,000,000 Guaranteed PokerNews Cup that will run from June 24-28.
The tournament will feature three starting flights beginning with Day 1a at 11 a.m. PT on Friday, June 24. Days 1b and 1c will take place at the same time on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26 respectively. The surviving players from each flight will return at Noon on Monday, June 27 to play down to the final table, which will play out at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

The rotation has been adjusted slightly to separate some of the similar variants and the cards are in the air with a first round of Seven Card Stud. Half of the Paris Purple section is in use so far and more tables will be available once Day 1a of the COLOSSUS returns from the break and starts moving contestants into other sections.
