Fawcett's River Bet Takes it Down

Nível 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Action was picked up with 2,300,000 in the pot with a board of {5-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Hearts}. Justin Fawcett fired for 1,300,000 from the big blind. After a minute or two of tanking, Stanley Weng eventually found the fold, telling Fawcett "Nice hand" as he did so.

"Thought you were gonna pay it off." Fawcett responded.

"If I had more chips I probably do"," Weng informed him as Fawcett scooped the big pot to add to his stack which remains among the biggest in the field.

Brazier Rivers Trips

Nível 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Joining the action on the flop the board read {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. Both Dominic Brazier in the big blind and Lion Lee under the gun checked.

The turn was the {j-Clubs} and action checked through again.

The {j-Hearts} was the river and Brazier led out for 380,000. Lee made the call but was met with bad news when Brazier showed {j-Spades}{4-Spades} for three of a kind.

Straight Over Straight Eliminates Bauer

Nível 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

PokerNews missed this crazy hand, but was well-informed after the fact by the table and a few spectators.

Alain Bauer opened from the button to 120,000 and found one call from Yita Choong in the big blind.

On the flop of {8-}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Choong check-called another bet of 250,000 from Bauer.

The {k-Clubs} turn saw Choong check and Baur blast away, this time for 850,000. The table said he was even trying to goad Choong into going all in by saying something like, "Come on you can raise we can get it all in if you want". So that's exactly what Choong did by ripping it all in for 2,500,000 more, covering Bauer.

Bauer kept true to his word and called it off, putting himself at risk.

Choong tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a king-high straight and Bauer showed {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a ten-high flush

The river {5-Clubs} did absolutely nothing and Bauer was eliminated. Choong raked in the massive pot that boosted him to the top of the leaderboard.

Von Guttenberg's Set Knocks Out Vohra

Nível 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Raj Vohra moved all in from the small blind with the effective stack of about 575,000. Eric Von Guttenberg made the snap call from the big blind and the two were off to the races.

Raj Vohra: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Eric Von Guttenberg: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop gave Vohra a pair of jacks, but improved Von Guttenberg to a set, leaving Vohra drawing thin. The {8-Clubs} turn and {9-Clubs} river offered no help to Vohra, who was sent to the rail. Vohra won his first WSOP bracelet just a couple weeks ago, winning the $600 deep stack, but his pursuit of his second came up short in this event.

Lauck Eliminated Against Sova

Nível 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Action began for this hand when the hijack raised to 175,000 and then Jonas Lauck immediately moved all in for 1,200,000 from the cutoff. John Sova asked for a count and then went all in over the top for over 7,000,000, covering the table.

Everyone else folded and the cards were tabled, with Lauck at risk.

Jonas Lauck: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
John Sova: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Lauck was in bad shape and the flop of {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Clubs} did not do him any favors. The turn {3-Clubs} left him drawing dead and the {j-Spades} sealed his fate. Sova sprang back up to the chip lead with 9,100,000.

Rezaei Outkicks Opponents

Nível 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Heads-up action was picked up with 400,000 in the pot and a {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. Daniel Rezaei bet 220,000 in late position and Marko Grujic called from the big blind.

On the {9-Hearts} turn, Rezaei continued for 700,000 and Grujic called again. The {5-Diamonds} river was checked by both players.

Rezaei turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} while Grujic showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Both players had paired their ace, but Rezaei's queen kicker brought the pot home for him.
