Event #34: $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em Begins Today

The 53rd annual World Series of Poker at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas continues with Event #34: $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold’em. This is a three-day event that will kick off today at 11:00 a.m. PDT.

Chad Himmelspach is the current defending champion, having won $207,877 in last year's event along with his first WSOP bracelet. HImmelspach bested a field of 1,191 entries that ended in an intense three-hour heads-up battle against Stefan Reiser before being crowned as champion.

Players will start the day with a stack of 25,000 in chips and Level 1 blinds will be 100/100 with 100 big blind ante. For Day 1, levels will be 40 minutes, with a 20-minute break every three levels. There will be a 75-minute dinner break after Level 9, at approximately 5:40 p.m. and the players will complete 17 levels before they call it a night and bag their chips for Day 2.

Late registration will be open until the end of the dinner break after Level 9 which should be around 6:55 p.m. if things kick off in time. As this event is a freezeout, reentries will not be possible for players who fail to win their final all-in.

Daigle Takes Four-Bet Pot Off Platt

Brito Wins Huge All-In, Scores Early Knockout

The flop came and Brito continued for 2,000. Both players made the call.

The turn brought the and Brito fired off 5,000. The player in early position called and the big blind moved all in for his last 8,500. While Brito wanted to go all in over the top, he was unable to and was forced to call the 8,500 after a floor ruling. The early position player also called.

On the river, Brito put his remaining 12,500 chips in the middle and got called.
