Vieira Eliminated by Ruzicka

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

On a {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop with about 70,000 in the pot, Joao Vieira was in the big blind and check-called a 32,000 bet by Vojtech Ruzicka in the hijack.

Vieira checked the {4-Clubs} turn and Ruzicka jammed for Vieira's effective stack of about 170,000. Vieira pondered for several minutes before the clock was called. Before the tournament director got to the five-second countdown, Vieira put in the chips.

Joao Vieira: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Vieira was in rough shape and needed a jack, or a ten for a chop, but the {a-Diamonds} completed the board to send him to the payout desk.

Grafton Knocks Out Grospellier

Nível 19 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Bertrand Grospellier
Bertrand Grospellier

Sam Grafton opened on the button and Bertrand Grospellier three-bet shoved a stack of 90,000 from the small blind. Grafton called with his opponent covered.

Bertrand Grospellier: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Sam Grafton: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Grospellier was ahead preflop but the flop of {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} put Grafton in front with a pair of nines. Grospellier didn't get any help from the runout of {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and was sent to the rail.

Pirault Has the Last Laugh

Nível 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Francois Pirault
Francois Pirault

Francois Pirault moved all-in in late position with a stack of 65,000. The action folded to Pavel Plesuv in the big blind, who asked for a count before checking his cards. He let out a snicker as he looked at his hand and called.

Francois Pirault: {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Pavel Plesuv: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Pirault needed help and ultimately got it as the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} to give him a flush. Plesuv was not laughing after the runout.

Boris Kolev Bags Top Stack as 19 Players Will Return for Day 3

Nível 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Boris Kolev

Day 2 of Event #56: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship saw 136 players start the day, and at the end, only 19 players bagged a stack for Day 3. Action will resume at 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, October 31, with play scheduled to go down to a winner. Everyone who is returning tomorrow has cashed for a minimum of $27,132, but they will all have their eyes on the WSOP gold bracelet and the $721,453 first-place prize.

Notables who fell short of a cash today include Phil Hellmuth, Michael Mizrachi, Dan Smith, Stephen Chidwick, Maria Ho, and Nate Silver.

The bubble took a while to burst, with Ren Lin, Michael Brinkenhoff, Nick Schulman, and Sam Grafton all having been at risk of the bubble boy title at one point. Clement Richez was the unfortunate one to give joy to the other 50 players who cashed.

A few of the players who couldn’t find a bag at the end of the night but did make it into the money include Bertrand Grospellier, Niklas Astedt, Joao Vieira, Ryan Laplante, and Jimmy D’Ambrosio.

Boris Kolev had a fun day on the felt and bagged the chip lead with 2,185,000 chips. Some of the other players who bagged and will return for Day 3 include Asi Moshe (1,980,000), Matt Berkey (1,765,000), Vojtech Ruzicka (1,450,000), Pavel Plesuv (865,000), JJ Liu (655,000), and Sam Grafton (535,000).

Day 3 starts at 2 p.m. local time on October 31 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The tournament will restart with blinds at 10,000/25,000/25,000.
