Ewing All In For His Tournament Life

Nível 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Once an unstoppable force earlier in this tournament, Chris Ewing just had to survive an all in less than 30 spots away from the money.

Sam Grafton opened the pot with a raise from the cutoff to 12,000. Kyriakos Papadopoulos called from the button and Ewing defended his big blind.

Ewing led out for 12,000 on a flop of {j-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, Grafton folded and Papadopoulos called. He bet again on the {a-Spades} turn, this time for 25,000. Papadopoulos called once again.

On the {5-Hearts} river, Ewing pushed all in for his last 30,000 and sent Papadopoulos into the tank.

"Do you have a flush?," Papadopoulos asked. He eventually called with {a-}{q-} for a pair of aces, but Ewing had spiked two pair on the river with {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to win the pot and double up.

"If you're going to get lucky you might as well value shove," Ewing said as he stacked up around 200,000 chips. Papadopoulos was left with 190,000, while Grafton has 175,000.
