Table 459 Out Of Play Due To Coffee

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

The floor had tried to break tables in a fashion that would move tables closer to the front of the room. However a slight hurdle occurred when John Esposito spilled steaming hot coffee over at least half of the table, rendering half of the table unusable in a poker tournament. The floor made the decision to move the table formerly known as 459 to 460, and that table will be out of play for the remainder of the day.

Lennon Practically Doubles with Nines

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

On a {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board and a 60,000 pot, Jeff Lennon bet from early position and the cutoff player called.

The {k-Hearts} completed the board and Lennon put in the rest of his chips, which wasn't much more, and showed {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} before his opponent actually made a decision. It didn't matter though as his opponent showed {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} for ace-high as he folded and Lennon took the pot to just about double his stack.

Barry Greenstein got in his last 11,000 preflop and the cards were turned on their backs.

Barry Greenstein: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Nghia Le: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The flop came {10-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} which gave Le a pair of aces and Greenstein a gutshot. The turn and river came {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} which didn't save Greenstein and he left the event.

Greenstein Left with Short Stack

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Barry Greenstein raised in early position and the small blind player re-raised. The big blind called and so did Greenstein.

The flop was {3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the players checked.

On the {5-Spades} turn, the small blind bet, the big blind raised, and Greenstein re-raised. Only the big blind continued to the river.

The {q-Spades} completed the board and the big blind check-raised after Greenstein put out a bet. Greenstein shook his head and had to let go of his hand, leaving him with a short stack.

Erickson and McKeehen Go To War

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Joe McKeehan
Joe McKeehan

Kevin Erickson raised under the gun and Joe McKeehen three-bet from the cutoff which folded the action back to Erickson who called.

The flop came down {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and McKeehen called Erickson's 5,000 bet on the flop.

The turn of the {8-Diamonds} brought another bet out of Erickson and McKeehen called once more.

The {7-Spades} river was checked through. Erickson showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for jacks and eights with an ace kicker and McKeehen shook his head and mucked.

Tom Triples

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

The action picked up on the turn in a three way pot between Philip Tom, Try Veng, and Jeremy Maher.

With the board reading {2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades}{q-Hearts} Tom put in his remaining 5,500 and Maher raised to 16,000. Try Veng gave it some thought but called to see the river.

The river came an {a-Diamonds} and the action quickly checked through. "I got you both," said Tom as he turned over {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for rivered aces-up which was good enough to beat Veng's {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and Maher's {q-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Veng scooped the side pot for 10,500 while Tom scooped up the main.
