The 22 players left standing in Event #25: $777 LUCKY SEVENS finished off Day 1 after 32 levels of play. The tournament, which did not have a guarantee, saw a prize pool of just under $1.5 million as it attracted 2,014 entrants.

Play on the first day of the two-day tournament, which is part of the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events, lasted for nine hours as players battled it out for their chance at a WSOP bracelet. Hong Kong's "uvw999" finished as the Day 1 chip leader with a stack of 5.2 million, while Craig "raven symone" Mason of Mexico and Dumitru "DDimancescu" Pora of Austria were not far behind with stacks of 4.6 million and 4.2 million, respectively.

The field of players at the end of Day 1 included some top names, including Lucio "WizardOfAz" Lima, who won Event #9: $525 Superstack Turbo Bounty in August for a score of $45,796, as well as Canadian pro Mike Watson and Canada-based grinder David "ZONEDin" Jackson.

There were other well known players in the field who didn't make it to Day 2. Among them was Wiktor Malinowski, who just days ago took down the Super High Roller Bowl Europe Main Event for a nearly $3.7 million score. Malinowski was eliminated in 91st place after his nines couldn't hold up against the eights of his opponent, while Brazil's Yuri Dzivielevski was eliminated earlier in the tournament.

Day 2 of the action will kick off on September 5 at 1 p.m. GMT. Each returning player already has $7,999 in prize money locked up and will battle for a chance at the top prizes of $194,178 for first, $140,394 for second and $101,508 for third.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you Day 2 updates, so be sure to check back in.
