179 Players Return for Day 2 of the GGPoker $10,000 World Series Of Poker Main Event at 6 PM GMT
Day 2 of the international 2020 GGPoker $10,000 World Series Of Poker Main Event resumes at 6 p.m. GMT with 179 players out of 674 entries trying to get to the top 80 as those players will claim a share of the $6,470,400 prize pool. Getting into the money stages means a min-cash of at least $15,277 but all players will be eyeing up a seat at the final table of nine which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, December 15, in King's Resort in the Czech Republic.
Securing a spot at the final table earns players at least $75,360 but the winner will walk away with $1,550,969. However, that's not all, the winner is supposed to fly out to Las Vegas to compete against the winner of the WSOP.com side of the proceedings for an extra $1,000,000. All in all, a lot of action is expected for today as all is up for grabs.
Coming back for Day 2 with a huge chip lead is Canada's Senthuran "Prodigal Sen" Vijayaratnam with 9,66,714 which equals 193 big blinds at the start of the day. He is followed by the UK's Jesse "sabor_de_mar" Wigan with 642,276. Day 1b's chip leader Blaz Zerjav closely follows him with 639,394. Day 1a's chip leader Julian "VWgunther" Menhardt ended up in sixth place in the overall chip count leader board.
Other familiar names returning with an above-average stack include Viacheslav Buldygin, Preben Stokkan, Gediminas "NeverGambol" Uselis, Javier Gomez, Daniel Smiljkovic, Laurynas Levinskas, Carter Swidler, Simon Lofberg, Jonas Lauck, Sergio Aido, Damian Salas, and Anatoly Filatov.
At the bottom of the counts are also many familiar names who have got some work ahead of them. Georgios Sotiropoulos, Josip "MagicKing" Simunic, Antoine Saout, Ludovic "Gr4vyB04t" Geilich, Paul "cloakzy" Hoefer, Alexandros Kolonias, George Wolff, Artur Martirosian, Alexandru Papazian, and Sung Joo "ArtePokerTV" Hyun all have fewer than 30 big blinds to their name.
Play will resume with a small blind of 2,500, a big blind of 5,000, and a running ante of 500. Level duration will remain at 30 minutes throughout the day and play will continue until the final table has been reached with a 5-minute break every hour.
