The board read when all the chips of Chad Power went in from the big blind and his tournament life was at risk as he was called by Ryan Yu in the cutoff.
Chad Power:
Ryan Yu:
Power had an overpair but Yu had turned trip fives.
The river completed the board with the to seal the deal as Power was done for today.
Power got up from his chair and ceremoniously declared, "I bestow my jacket upon you," and took off his gold sequined jacket, draping it over Yu's shoulders, before making his way out of the tournament area.
Yu promised to pass it on to the next player if he was to be eliminated.
Sam Greenwood raised to 225,000 and Chris Hunichen defended the big blind to see a flop. Hunichen checked and called a bet of 150,000 by Greenwood to see the turn, which was checked by both.
On the river, Hunichen check-called another bet of 450,000 and Greenwood tabled for queens and eights. Hunichen had that beat with and claimed the pot.
Paul Dhaliwal raised from the middle position, Jonathan Cohen called in the cutoff, and Christopher Sly three-bet to 600,000. Dhaliwal shoved with the bigger stack, Cohen folded and Sly called.
Christopher Sly:
Paul Dhaliwal:
The board ran out for Sly to hold with the higher pocket pair. While Sly pushed his stack forward for the dealer to count it out, other players at the table saw Sly had some chips under the rail. Sly pried the chips from under the rail but the floor was called over as he couldn't get them all out. In the end, the floor pulled 40,000 from underneath the chips but ruled that the chips would be taken out of play as they couldn't be 100% certain that they were Sly's.
