Wendlandt Four-Bet Shoves

Nível 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Henning Wendlandt opened on the button for 160,000, Kevin Maahs called, and Ryan Yu three-bet to 720,000. Wendlandt responded with an all-in shove for just over 3.6 million. Maahs asked for a count then folded, and Yu immediately folded after.

In the aftermath of the hand, Warwick Mirzikinian chided Maahs for asking for a count.

"You're never calling in that spot," he said.

"Never?" Maahs asked.

"Never."

Nível 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Jaysun Petruce
Jaysun Petruce

Jaysun Petruce opened to 215,000 from middle position and Martin Huk called from the small blind.

The flop landed {9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Huk checked. Petruce announced he was all in for 1,230,000, and after a slight pause, Huk called.

Huk: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Petruce: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Petruce was at-risk with his gutshot and live ace, but when the {k-Hearts} fell on the turn, Huk took the lead with a straight.

Needing a jack to stay alive, Petruce would see the {3-Clubs} roll off on the river, and he was eliminated in 103rd place for a $59,295 payday.

Mostafa Ashkarkhizani was down to less than one million chips and he moved all in for 950,000 in the hijack. Oliver Bithell quickly called from the big blind and the cards were on their backs.

Oliver Bithell: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Mostafa Ashkarkhizani: {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The flop of {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} gave Ashkarkhizani a straight draw to go with his two overcards. However, the {4-Diamonds} and {7-Hearts} runout was not what he was looking for Ashkarkhizani headed to the payout desk.

Hwang Snap-Folds to Parkes' Raise

Nível 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Andy Hwang raised to 160,000 from the hijack and Thomas Parkes decided to defend his big blind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}, Parkes check-called the 170,000 continuation-bet of Hwang.

The turn was the {3-Hearts}, Parkes checked again and Hwang barreled a bet of 385,000 over the line. Parkes called to see the {a-Diamonds} complete the board. Parkes checked for the last time, Hwang fired 1,250,000 into the pot and Parkes threw in some chips for a raise which made Hwang snap-fold.

Greg Himmelbrand Eliminated in 106th Place ($59,295)

Nível 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Greg Himmelbrand
Greg Himmelbrand

Greg Himmelbrand entered Day 6 on the short stack, and unfortunately for him, he wasn't able to spin it up.

In what would be his last hand of the tournament, Himmelbrand moved all in for 820,000 from early position and the short-stacked Jake Schindler called off for 145,000 from the button. Christopher Wynkoop was in the big blind and took his time before making the call to put both players at risk.

Wynkoop: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Schindler: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Himmelbrand: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop gave Himmelbrand the lead but both of his opponents picked up straight draws. The {a-Clubs} turn was a disaster for Himmelbrand, and his fate was sealed by the {a-Diamonds} on the river.

Schindler and Wynkoop both made trip aces with a queen kicker, so they split the main pot while Wynkoop pulled in the larger side pot.

Dempsey Doubles Through Hashem

Nível 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

John Hashem raised to 200,000 in the hijack and Jiwoon Kim made it 600,000 to go from the cutoff. Hashem responded with a four-bet to 1,400,000 and Kim jammed to force a fold.

Hashem then raised to 200,000 and Johnathan Dempsey jammed for 1,345,000 on the button, which Hashem reluctantly called.

Johnathan Dempsey: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
John Hashem: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board came {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and the kicker played to let Dempsey double.

Ajayi Doubles Through Greenwood

Nível 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Sam Greenwood opened for 180,000 in the hijack and Adedapo Ajayi made it 525,000 on the button. Greenwood moved all in and Ajayi went into the tank. He had about 2.6 million back.

"I think I might have to go with this one," he said, taking a deep breath.

He spent a few minutes in the tank, apologizing to the other players. Then, he called and turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, standing up when he saw Greenwood table {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. The dealer spread a flop of {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts}, giving Ajayi a boat.

"OK!" he said excitedly. "I can work with that flop!"

The {7-Clubs} turn rendered the {2-Diamonds} river meaningless.

"Let's goooo," Ajayi called out as the dealer cut his stack down for a double.
