Marquez & Ivan Battle in the Blinds

Ana Marquez from earlier on in the 2019 WSOP
Ana Marquez from earlier on in the 2019 WSOP

The flop fell {5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}, and 888poker ambassador Ana Marquez checked from the small blind. Alexandru Ivan bet 8,000 from the big blind and Marquez raised to 28,000.

With the decision back on Ivan, and sat with a 267,000 stack, he started to think. Close to a minute had passed and Ivan was yet to make his action, but after a few more seconds ticked by he opted to give up and folded, with Marquez swooping the pot.

Silver Shoves; Berkey Eliminated

Nível 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Max Silver earlier this summer
Max Silver earlier this summer

Max Silver saw the under-the-gun player raise to 3,000 and it folded all the way around to the Brit in the big blind. He thought about it for a minute before he announced that he was all-in.

His opponent wanted a count and Silver's stack was 21,800. He took his time but ended up folding and Silver picks up a nice pot without showdown.

It seems that Matt Berkey was eliminated from the tournament on one of the other tables as his seat is now occupied by someone else.

Tournament officials have confirmed the number of entries for the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event.

A total of 8,569 players stumped up the $10,000 buy-in, making this the second largest Main Event in history. This generated a prizepool of $80,548,600.

A total of 1,286 places will be paid and a min-cash is worth $15,000. Making the final table of nine will earn a player $1,000,000 with the winner walking away with $10,000,000, the joint second-biggest payday for a Main Event champion, level with Martin Jacobson in 2014.

Hellmuth Left on a Nub; Doubles for Five Bigs

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth saw his stack cut down to 14 big blinds and then called a raise by Craig Fishman for 2,200 when in the cutoff. The flop brought {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Fishman bet 2,200, Hellmuth min-raised to 4,400 and Fishman clicked back to 9,600 in order to force a fold from Hellmuth.

A few hands later, Hellmuth raised to 3,000 from early position and called all in after a three-bet by Pedro Padilha in the big blind.

Phil Hellmuth: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Pedro Padilha: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Hellmuth remained in contention.

Good Board for Martin

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

There was a raise to 2,500 from early position and Kevin Martin called on the button to go heads-up to the flop. The dealer spread the flop of {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and the preflop raiser continued for 2,700. Martin raised to 8,000 and his opponent called.

One of the juiciest cards in the deck, the {7-Clubs}, landed on the turn. The action was checked to Martin who dropped in a bet of 15,700. His opponent was left shaking his head as he sent his cards to the muck and Martin scooped the pot.

Rheem Reads Bohn Like a Book

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

Blake Bohn was under the gun and bet 20,000 on a completed board of {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades}. He only had about 15,000 back and there was around 30,000 in the pot. Two players were behind him and the first one, in middle position, tanked and then called. The other shook his head and folded.

"He's gonna show the nuts," Chino Rheem said, standing up. "I promise you he's gonna show the nuts."

Sure enough: Bohn chuckled and turned over {k-Spades}{3-Spades}.

"If he bets 20,000 into that pot into two people on his birthday...I know he has the nuts," Rheem explained.

Steinbach's Cold-Four Bet Gets Through

Nível 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and Pierce Mckellar three-bet from the cutoff to 7,500. Kris Steinbach then cold four-bet from the small blind to 17,300.

The cutoff folded and Mckellar went into the tank, ultimately folding as well. Steinbach looked back at his cards as the dealer sent the pot his way and then the two proceeded to exchange the cards and the pot for one another.
