Hesp Eliminated by Carroll

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
John Hesp
John Hesp

On one of the outer feature tables, John Hesp's run in the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event has come to a conclusion courtesy of Taylor Carroll.

On a flop of {8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Carroll bet out and Hesp raised. Carroll shoved and Hesp called all in holding {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} to be up against Carroll's {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Hesp was in the lead with his ace-high and nut flush draw, but when the turn and river landed the {8-Spades} and {4-Diamonds}, Carroll completed his straight and eliminated Hesp.

As Hesp exited the feature table area he gave each player a jovial handshake, and then concluded it with a fist-pump to one of the ESPN camera operators.

Akkari Outkicks Hwang

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

With around 3,500 in the pot, the dealer turned over a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Andre Akkari checked from the small blind to Frederic Hwang, who was in the cutoff. Hwang bet 3,000 and Akkari called.

The turn came {8-Hearts} and both players checked. Akkari then fired, 5,500 on the river {7-Clubs} and Hwang called.

Akkari turned over his cards, tabling {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Hwang immediately knew he was outkicked, turning over {k-Spades}{q-Spades} to show the table that he just barely had the second-best hand as the pot was sent Akkari's way. With the pot, Akkari now hovers around the 150,000-mark with around two-and-a-half stacks in front of him.

Meanwhile, Allen Kessler was just seen occupying the nine-seat at Akkari's table. "Chainsaw" has appeared to have won a couple small pots, finding himself with just over the starting stack at present moment.

Ligeri Turns a Set of Queens

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player in middle position raised to 1,000, the action folded around to Justin Ligeri in the big blind and he three-bet to 2,500, which the original raiser called.

The flop came {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Ligeri check-raised the 1,800 bet to 5,000 and his opponent called. The turn was the {q-Clubs} and Ligeri instantly put a 5,000 chip in the middle. The opponent didn't take too long before throwing his hand away while saying, "I don't think you're messing around."

Ligeri showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} to the table for a turned set.

Brinkley Boats Up to Sink Wasicka

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Paul Wasicka bet 4,000 from the hijack into Andrew Brinkley on the big blind, with {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} on the board. Brinkley made the call, bringing forth a {9-Hearts} river.

Wasicka continued for 10,000, once again getting the call. Wasicka tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}, but it was no good against Brinkley's {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for threes full.

Riess Doesn't Believe Waters

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Tom Waters opened to 1,100 in early position and was called the cutoff and Ryan Riess on the button. The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and the action checked around to the {8-Clubs} on the turn.

Waters led out for 2,500 and the cutoff folded while Riess called. The river brought the {8-Diamonds} and Waters decided to shut it down. Riess also checked and Waters turned over {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Riess showed {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} for two pair and scooped the pot.

Fowler Puts Pileggi in a Tricky Spot

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Lawrence Pileggi opened under the gun and got three calls, one from behind and two in the blinds. On the {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{q-Clubs} board, the small blind checked and Anthony Fowler, who was sat in the big blind, lead for 4,200. Pileggi was the only caller, taking them heads up to the turn.

It was a {9-Hearts} and Fowler bet again, making it 6,100 to go. Pileggi called and the {4-Diamonds} completed the board. With a sizable pot already in the middle, Fowler barreled for 15,600. Pileggi counted out the chips and was left with around 30,000 if he made the call. After tanking for a couple of minutes, Pileggi let it go and Fowler told him he had two pair.

Nesrin Can was facing a bet of 6,000 by John Riordan on the river of a board {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Spades} and there were 5,800 in the middle. Can gave it plenty of thought and let go, and Riordan flashed his cards.
