Zinno Triples Up

Nível 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

After the player in the cutoff raised, Anthony Zinno shoved his last remaining chips from the button. The small-blind player folded and the big-blind player, who had slightly more than Zinno, then four-bet shoved. The original raiser had both players covered and made the call, which created a side pot.

Anthony Zinno: {6-Spades}{7-Spades}
Big-Blind Player: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Original Raiser; {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

It looked like it was going to be a double-knockout on the {5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} board, but then the dealer fanned the {6-Clubs} on the river, which sent the main pot and some much-needed chips to Zinno. The original raised scooped the side pot with ace-king high and eliminated the big-blind player.

Where Did Volpe's Chips Go?

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Paul Volpe in a previous event
Paul Volpe in a previous event

In the previous level, Paul Volpe sat at the table but the problem was that his chips were nowhere to be found.

"I was afraid I put them in my pocket, but I can't find them anywhere," Volpe said upon discovering his chips were gone.

Volpe's neighbor just won a big pot the hand before and the general consensus at the table was that he accidentally took Volpe's chips as well when he raked in the pot.

The floor was called and Volpe was told that it would take a long time to look up the security cam footage, and that an determining an exact amount was most likely not even possible.

Volpe only knew he had "a little under 20,000." Volpe and his neighbor eventually agreed on the number 18,500 and no cameras were checked.

The next hand was played with 18,500 in front of Volpe and he folded.

Defending Champion Veiga Takes From Bicknell

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Diogo Veiga earlier this summer
Diogo Veiga earlier this summer

Diogo Veiga won this exact tournament this year when it was one of the few events that featured the big blind ante. This year all no limit hold'em events do.

Veiga now raised to 2,500 from the hijack and Kristen Bicknell three-bet from the button to 7,000. Veiga called after both players in the blinds have folded.

The flop fell {j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and both checked this time. They also did that on the {7-Spades} turn but it was Veiga with an 11,500 bet when the {2-Spades} was dealt on the river.

Bicknell thought about it for a moment but she decided to fold.

Liran Twito raised from early position to 3,600 and it folded to big blind Marc MacDonnell. He only had 5,000 chips and there were five of them in front of him. He pushed them all to the middle and the action was back on Twito.

Twito ended up folding his hand and MacDonnell picked up some chips.

Le Goff's Sevens Hold to Bust One

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Damien Le Goff raised to 3,200 from early position and a player in late position three-bet shoved. With action back on Le Goff he asked for a count, and after the dealer confirmed 25,600 total he re-counted his chipstack and then made the call.

Damien Le Goff: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
All-in Player: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}, which was of no help to the all-in player and he was eliminated in the last level of play on Day 1.

You Win Some You Lose Some

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The following action took place in back-to-back hands.

In the first hand David Peters raised to 3,200 from under-the-gun and got called by the small-blind player and Paraskevas Tsokaridis from his big blind.

After both players checked the {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop Peter continued with a bet of 2,700. The small-blind player then check-raised to 7,000. Tsokaridis eyed both players' chipstacks and four-bet to 55,000, which was enough to get Peters and the big-blind player to fold.

In the very next hand, after action folded around to Tsokaridis in the small blind and he called, Peters checked his option in his big blind.

Tsokaridis led out with a bet of 1,700 on the {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop and got called by Peters. After Tsokaridis checked the {8-Diamonds} turn Peters bet 5,200, which got a check-fold from Tsokaridis.

Kurganov Goes for Value

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Igor Kurganov earlier this summer
Igor Kurganov earlier this summer

There was already about 40,000 in the middle of the table while the board read {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Igor Kurganov bet 23,500 and it was on David Margi to decide what to do.

The bet was for most of Kurganov his stack and he was called. Kurganov showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for two pair and that was enough to win the pot.

Wisdom Bluffs the Turn and Binks the River

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Action picked up on the turn on a board reading {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} in a headsup pot.

The big-blind player checked over to Andrew Wisdom and he put out a bet of 5,300, which was check-called by the big-blind player. After the big-blind player checked the {6-Diamonds} river, Wisdom then slid out a bet of 7,200, which was again check-called by the player in the big blind.

He then mucked his hand after Wisdom tabled {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the runner-runner nutflush.
