"Joe Hachem Gets It In Bad"

Nível 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

Down to his last 230,000, Corey Hochman saw action folded to him on the button and raised the pot to 175,000. Hachem confirmed he only had 55,000 behind and continued deliberating, saying he was unsure of what he should do. After a minute, he raised to put Hochman all in and Hochman called.

Corey Hochman: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Joe Hachem: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Hachem was in shock when he saw Hochman's hand, exclaiming it was about the worst hand he could have imagined being up against. The board ran out {2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, giving Hachem's bleak outlook a slight hope on the flop with a gutshot straight draw. However, he failed to fill up and Hochman earned the double.

After the hand, Bryce Yockey joked, telling Hachem that it was really hard to get it in as poorly as Hachem did in this game. The table erupted in laughter, Hachem included.

Chris Vitch added to the fun with his own headline for the hand: "Joe Hachem Gets It In Bad."

Schulman Drags Heaps From Yockey

Nível 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Bryce Yockey raised to 125,000 from under the gun and Nick Schulman called in middle position. The flop was {j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Yockey bet 175,000. Schulman called in position.

The turn was the {k-Diamonds} and Yockey checked. Schulman fired a pot-sized bet of 675,000 and Yockey called for more than half his remaining stack. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and both players quickly checked.

Yockey rolled over three of the four aces with {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for, eventually, just aces (along with the wheel draw and the nut blocker). Schulman tabled the final {a-Spades}, along with {k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-} for two pair and soared above three million.

Yockey and Vitch Play for Stacks

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Action folded around to Chris Vitch in the cutoff who raised to 150,000. Bryce Yockey called out of the small blind and the flop came {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Yockey jammed for exactly the size of the pot, 360,000 and Vitch called.

Bryce Yockey: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Chris Vitch: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The turn and river fell {3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and the two of them chopped up the pot as Vitch had treys up and Yockey had an eighty-five.

Bryce Yockey Eliminated in 8th Place ($45,551)

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Bryce Yockey
Bryce Yockey

Bryce Yockey potted to 270,000, a little under half his stack, from under the gun and Brian Hastings called from the big blind. On a {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, both players quickly got the rest in.

Bryce Yockey: {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Brian Hastings: {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and the river the {8-Spades}. It took some studying from everyone at the table, but Hastings had Yockey pipped with five-three against four-three for high, as well as having a 7-5-4-3-2 low to Yockey's 8-5-4-3-A for a scoop to send the 2017 champ of this event out in 8th place.

Vitch Chops For His Tournament Life

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Chris Vitch opened the action with a pot-sized raise of 210,000 from the hijack. Joe Hachem was in the big blind and asked Vitch what he was playing and Vitch responded saying he started the hand with 550,000. He eventually made the call and the flop came {4-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Hachem checked and Vitch shoved for his remaining 340,000. Hachem called.

Chris Vitch: {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Joe Hachem: {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

The turn and river fell {9-Spades}{a-Hearts} and the two chopped the pot, Vitch with nines up and Hachem with the nut low.

Strebkov Limps, Then Re-Pots

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Action folded to Denis Strebkov in the small blind and he completed the call. Michael McKenna was in the big blind and raised to a pot-sized bet of 180,000.

Immediately after McKenna raised, Strebkov announced that he raised the pot and put in a raise to 540,000. McKenna folded.

On the very next hand, McKenna gave Chris Vitch a walk and now has just over 10 big blinds in his stack with under 10 minutes to play in the day.

Vitch Doubles Through McKenna, Leaves Him Short Before End of Night

Nível 26 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Michael McKenna
Michael McKenna

Action folded to the cutoff where Michael McKenna opened to 120,000. Chris Vitch was on the button and flatted him. Brian Hastings folded his small blind and the short-stacked Corey Hochman folded in the big blind, taking the pot heads up to a flop of {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

McKenna announced a pot-sized bet and Vitch immediately announced he was all in. McKenna called in the same motion as his original bet and the two tabled their hands.

Chris Vitch: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Michael McKenna: {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

McKenna was in trouble with his pair of treys and nut low draw to Vitch's pair of queens with the same nut low draw. The turn and river both went high, falling {10-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and McKenna congratulated Vitch on a nice hand, thinking he was eliminated from the tournament.

Vitch assured him that he still had a few chips left and when he paid off the 595,000 he owed Vitch, he was left with 65,000. Meanwhile, Hochman's stack of 200,000 puts him in in sixth place of seven for the time being.
