Event #54: $1,500 Razz Starts at 3 p.m. in Las Vegas
It's time for some Razz festivities at the 2019 World Series of Poker. Today at 3 p.m. local time they will commence when Event #54: $1,500 Razz kicks-off in the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The seven card game will feature no straights and flushes and the best hand is simply ace through five.
There has been some discussion about the structure and it has been adjusted slightly. The latest structure change is that the players will start with a stack of 12,000 instead of 10,000 to have a little extra room. The first three levels will be played double and will make up for six out of the ten levels played today. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels and they'll bag after ten levels which will be around 2 a.m.
Jay Kwon took the tournament down last year when he beat a field of 389 players. Kwon has three recorded WSOP cashes and all three of them are in Razz tournaments. Should he show up today and try to win back-to-back bracelets in the same event, he may add to his previous tournament score of $125,431.
Plenty of familiar faces are expected to make an appearance in the first Razz tournament of the summer. Make sure to stay tuned to PokerNews for all the latest updates on Day 1.
