Chris Moneymaker is getting settled in at his Brasilia Room table, making his entrance with a meal from Popeye's Chicken and a ziplock bag full of his obligatory promotional patches in hands.

The 2003 WSOP Main Event champion greeted another player, who was wearing a University of Tennessee hat, warmly, and promised not to bust him early.

The first challenging spot of the day has already hit Moneymaker, however, as he discovered his Popeye's meal didn't come with utensils.

Rivered Straight Is Good for Maser

Nível 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

The player under the gun opened to 500, Fabian Maser called sitting to her, action folded to the small and big blind players who called.

The blinds checked the {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop and the UTG player fired out 1,500. Maser called along with the small blind player.

The {2-Spades} turn was checked to the UTG player bet 3,000, Maser called along with the small blind player.

The {6-Hearts} river was checked to Maser and he fired out 5,000. The small blind player called while the UTG player folded.

The small blind player {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} hit a set on the river but that was second best to Maser's {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} rivered straight as he raked in the pot.

Deepstack Series at a Glance

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The Deepstack Series is a new edition to the schedule of WSOP bracelet events for 2019, and Event #53: $800 No-Limit Deepstack 8-Handed is the sixth of seven on the schedule to be played this year.

The low buy-in series has drawn big numbers through the first five events, and with already more than 1,700 players registered today, Event #53 will be no exception.

Late registration closes after Level 12, and with a $750,000 guaranteed prize pool, plenty of players will no doubt be entering the pool as Day 1 rolls on.

Christopher Conrad opened to 600 under the gun and was called by the small and big blind players.

The {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop was checked to Conrad to bet 800. The small blind player folded, while the big blind player came along.

Conrad fired out 2,400 after the {2-Diamonds} was checked to him, his opponent called.

Both players checked the {k-Hearts} on the river.

Conrad {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} had the king-high flush draw headed to the river but instead paired his king, and that was good enough to take down the pot as his opponent mucked {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} face up.

With a board showing {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and over 2,000 in the pot, Kalidou Sow fired out 900. Bradley Estes mucked his hand from the cutoff while Joseph Snow called from the button.

Both players checked the {3-Hearts} river and Sow tabled {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a pair of sevens, and that was good enough to win the hand.
