Hands #10-15: Blackburn Scoops a Big One, Announces, "It's Crazy!"

Nível 37 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Nick Blackburn
Nick Blackburn

Hand #10: Small blind Benjamin Underwood open shipped his stack preflop (setting Daniele D'Angelo in); no call.

Hand #11: Underwood opened his button, too, this time for 1,300,000, but folded to a shove from Ori Hasson, who helpfully, quietly, self-counted down before doing so (13,000,000)

Hand #12: Underwood took a pot down with the same raise from the cutoff.

Hand #13: Hasson opened on the button to 1,200,000 but folded to another jam from Joao Valli, who's picked up several million chips so far on the final table with this maneuver.

Hand #14: Amir Lehavot received a walk.

Hand #15: Hasson opened for 1,200,000 in the hijack, called by big blind Nick Blackburn. On the {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, Blackburn checked - as he was to do on all subsequent streets - and Hasson bet 1,450,000. Hasson called, as he did on the {3-Hearts} turn when Hasson bet 2,250,000. The pairing {3-Spades} on the river slowed Hasson's roll, and he checked behind, mucking when Blackburn showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} with what can only be described as his characteristic victory squawk, adding, "Hillbilly wins another one. It's crazy!"

Jeff Tahler Eliminated in 9th Place ($31,933)

Nível 37 : 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante
Jeff Tahler
Jeff Tahler

Daniele D'Angelo raised to 1,400,000 from early position, Jeff Tahler called from the hijack and Santiago Soriano called from the big blind. The flop was {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Soriano checked. D'Angelo bet 1,600,000, Tahler moved all in for a little under 10,000,000, Soriano reshoved all in and D'Angelo quickly got out of the way.

Jeff Tahler: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Santiago Soriano: {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Soriano had flopped a straight and Tahler needed to complete his flush draw to survive. Neither turn {4-Spades} and river {q-Clubs} brought a heart and Tahler was eliminated in 9th place.

Deepstack Crusher Underwood Doubles Through Gagnon

Nível 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Benjamin Underwood
Benjamin Underwood

Benjamin Underwood has been crushing it in the lower buy-in Deepstacks this summer. Earlier, he finished fourth in Event #9: $600 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack ($135,959) and fifth in Event #37: $800 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack ($74,435). Now, Underwood is at his third final table of the series after incredulously navigating his way through another bumper field.

Underwood's third time could still be the charm after winning an all-in versus Samuel Gagnon. It was Gagnon who raised to 1,200,000, Underwood who three-bet shoved 9,800,000 from the big blind, and Gagnon who snap-called.

Benjamin Underwood: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Samuel Gagnon: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Underwood's kings held up on the {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board for the early double at the unofficial final table.

Gustavo Hess Eliminated in 10th Place ($31,933)

Nível 36 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Gustavo Hess
Gustavo Hess

Samuel Gagnon raised to 1,000,000 from the cutoff, Gustavo Hess three-bet shoved a little over 5,000,000 on the button and the blinds folded. Gagnon immediately called when it was back on him.

Gustavo Hess: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Samuel Gagnon: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Hess was in a deep hole to start with and he and his Brazilian onlookers didn't get their spirits lifted on an {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} board. With Hess' elimination, the unofficial final table of nine is set.

Leading the way is Santiago Soriano with 28,300,000 in chips. Daniele D'Angelo is second with 21,415,000). Benjamin Underwood (11,350,000) made the final table of two Deepstack events earlier this summer, and once again made his way through an enormous field for his third deep run of the series.
