Hands #25-28: Aces Versus Aces

Nível 18 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Hand #25: Ben Heath limped in from the small blind and big blind Chance Kornuth checked. Heath checked on {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Kornuth took down the pot with a bet of 120,000 as Heath folded.

Hand #26: Dmitry Yurasov raised to 175,000 under the gun plus one and everyone folded.

Hand #27: Yurasov, now under the gun, made it 175,000 once more and picked up the blinds and ante as everyone folded again.

Hand #28: Andrew Lichtenberger opened under the gun plus one for 160,000 and Ben Heath in the hijack called. Sam Soverel three-bet to 875,000 from the button with 730,000 behind. Small blind Elio Fox, Soverel's neighbor, thought about it for a bit before he four-bet to 2,065,000.

The big blind, Lichtenberger, and Heath all folded right away, Soverel was quick to call all in.

Sam Soverel: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Elio Fox: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

While Soverel said he didn't have a good feeling about it, he was freerolling after the {9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop. The {10-Spades} turn made for a definite chop, the {8-Hearts} on the river was there just for good measure.

Andrew Lichtenberger
Andrew Lichtenberger

Hand #29: Andrew Lichtenberger opened to 160,000 from under the gun and Elio Fox flat-called on the button. The blinds folded and the dealer spread the flop of {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Both players checked and the {2-Hearts} landed on the turn. Lichtenberger led out for 180,000 and Fox called to see the {10-Diamonds} on the turn. Lichtenberger checked this and Fox bet 450,000 which got a snap-fold from Lichtenberger.

Hand #30: Cary Katz just called from the small blind and Lichtenberger raised it up to 230,000 from the big blind. Katz instantly folded and Lichtenberger collected the pot.

Hand #31: Sam Soverel raised to 190,000 in middle position and picked up the blinds and ante.

Hand #32: The action folded around to Lichtenberger on the button who shoved all in for 1,545,000. Nick Petrangelo asked for a count from the small blind and then made the call.

Andrew Lichtenberger: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}
Nick Petrangelo: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

Lichtenberger was in rough shape but the flop of {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts} sprung him into the lead. The {j-Clubs} on the turn and the {q-Hearts} on the river were no help to Petrangelo who sent over a double up.

Cary Katz Eliminated in 8th Place ($151,755)

Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Hand #66: Dmitry Yurasov opened for 225,000 under the gun plus one and his neighbor Cary Katz shoved for 1,130,000. The action folded back around quickly to Yurasov who called.

Dmitry Yurasov: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Cary Katz: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Katz was the clear favorite and the {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop was good for him, but the {7-Spades} on the turn spelled doom. Katz got up from the table, grabbed his bag, and was already on his way by the time the {4-Clubs} landed on the river.

From a field of 110 entries, Cary Katz finished in eighth place, good for a score of $151,755. The remaining seven players are now guaranteed $192,794. One more player is to go before play wraps up for the day.
