Malekova Gets Value

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Nicole Malekova raised to 2,000 and it folded to the players in the blinds who called.

On the flop {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Malekova continued for 2,300 after the blinds checked and only the small blind stayed in the hand.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and this time the small blind led out for 4,500, called by Malekova. The river fell the {j-Spades} and Malekova bet 12,000 after her opponent checked. The latter tanked for a few minutes before making the call with {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} but Malekova tabled {q-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for the straight and took down the pot.

Pike and Aoki With the Same Path and the Same Goal

Nível 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Mikiyo Aoki
Mikiyo Aoki

Jill Pike and Mikiyo Aoki both have previously finished second in the Ladies event, Pike in 2018 for $80,444 and Mikiyo in 2014 for $94,800. But their common story doesn't stop there as Pike confessed they both come from a small village in Montana.

"We're going to get the bracelet this year" added Pike with determination and a smile, "one of us will take it".

Aoki also keeps adding chips to her stack as she opened to 2,500 from the cutoff before facing a three-bet to 6,500 from the button. Aoki took a minute before opting to four-bet to 20,000 and her opponent let go.

Three Generations in the Same Tournament

Nível 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Katie Lindsay pointed out that her neighbor, Theresa Peel-Gase had three generations playing in the same tournament and was actually cheering when her mother, Shirley Burns-Peel was eliminated. Peel-Gase was kind enough to explain further:

There are five of them playing:
Peel-Gase herself, her mum Burns-Peel, her daughter Stefanie Gase, her cousin Melissa Burns, and her sister Trisha. She cheered because she lasted longer than her mum and shortly after, Burns also hit the rail. This means that Peel-Gase was the last one standing of the whole group.

Her dad didn't want them to play but when he passed away in 2009, they all decided to travel from Texas to Las Vegas to participate each year since.
