Scratch Both Chip Leader Posts: Tim Finne Tops 5 Million

Nível 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Timothy Finne
Timothy Finne

Pot-Limit Omaha

The number of big, multiway all-in pots in the PLO rounds is making determining a chip leader for more than 15 minutes at a time difficult. Never struggling chip-wise today, and now sitting behind a wall of ammunition is Tim Finne. His last pot grew chunky on a {4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop. Three-way, it checked to the button who bet 225,000. The earliest position player check-raised to one million (a pot-committing bet), and it was round to Finne in the middle. When he announced, "Pot," it really meant all-in for his brace of opponents; the button folded and it was heads up, cards on their backs:

Finne: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for the nut flopped straight.
All in opponent: {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for a lower flopped straight with a club flush draw.

The turn and river fell {9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and Finne is shortly going to be coloured up, lest his table overbalance.

Ahuja Takes Almost Half of Oliva's Stack

Ashish Ahuja
Ashish Ahuja

Pot-Limit Omaha

After a series of raises pre-flop, all the chips went in the middle between Ashish Ahuja and Jakub Oliva. Ahuja was at risk for 815,000.

Ashish Ahuja: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Jakub Oliva: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Ahuja was in pretty good shape and the board ran out {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, giving both of them full houses but Ahuja winning with fives full of aces for a massive double up.

Derkowski Shoves All-In on the River

Nível 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Grzegorz Derkowski raised to 100,000 in middle position, Joseph Anselmini called from the small blind and Matthieu Lamagnere defended from the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and all three players checked to the {7-Clubs} turn. Anselmini checked, Lamagnere fired out 200,000 and Derkowski called before Ansemini's cards hit the muck.

On the river {3-Clubs} Lamagnere gave up, checking and then snap-folding to Derkowski's all-in.

Cowen Busts to Likely New Chip Leader Matsuzuki

Nível 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

In a heads up raised pot, the flop already out ({q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}), Dan Matsuzuki in mid-position checked to cutoff Robert Cowen who bet 185,000 with not more than 300,000 behind. Matsuzuki check-raised an indeterminate amount, because as soon as the raise was annouced, the two players said, "all in," and "call" nearly simultaneously.

Matsuzuki: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for flopped top set.
Cowen: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs} for the overpair and full flush/straight combo.

The {4-Clubs}{6-Hearts} turn and river faded all Cowen's outs and he headed to the rail to collect $2,473.

Under the gun, Ylon Schwartz picked up {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} with big blind Christopher Astudillo lurking ready to shove with {a-Spades}{a-Spades}. The money flew in (Astudillo's 700,000 covered comfortably). The aces held, bumping him up near 1.5 million.

Kempe Counterfeits Provost to Stay Alive

Nível 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Rainer Kempe
Rainer Kempe

The action folded around to Rainer Kempe in the hijack and he moved all-in for 380,000. It folded around to Mathyeu Provost in the small blind, he called and the big blind quickly folded.

Mathyeu Provost: {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Rainer Kempe: {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Kempe was in bad shape pre-flop and the {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop wasn't looking too promising. The {8-Diamonds} landed on the turn and changed nothing, but the {a-Diamonds} on the river counterfeited Provost and Kempe got the double up and got to keep his seat.

Hubbard Wins at Showdown

Nível 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Stephen Hubbard raised it up from middle position to 90,000, the small blind called, and Raghav Bansal defended from the big blind.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and got checked around to the {7-Clubs} on the turn. The small blind checked, Bensal led for 135,000, Hubbard made the call and the small blind threw his cards in the muck. The river was the {2-Diamonds}, and both players checked, Hubbard tabled {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} for a rivered straight to earn himself the pot.

Force and O'Dea Win Modest Pots, One With Showdown, One Without

Nível 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Leif Force check-raised a {2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop from 40,000 to 140,000, called by his in-position opponent. The {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts} turn and river were checked by both parties, Force showing down the {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flush. "Nice flop," Force admitted, while his opponent said he'd flopped a set of sevens.

Eoghan O'Dea, third on the Ireland all-time money list, 6th in the $10,000 PLO Championship in 2017, and Main Event finalist in 2007, took a pot from Aristeidis Moschonas with a river bet of 240,000. Moschonas had led for 75,000 on the {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, O'Dea had made the call. Both players checked the {k-Diamonds} turn and when Moschonas checked the {9-Diamonds} river, O'Dea thought for a good minute and threw out the pot-winning bet.
