Luu Wins Pot on Bubble

Hieu Luu raised from the hijack and received calls by James Obst in the small blind and the player in the big blind. Obst and the big blind each drew two cards and Luu drew one. Action checked to Luu who bet and was called by both players. Second draws went two, one, pat and action again checked to Luu, who bet. Obst called and the big blind folded, taking it heads up to the final draw where both players stood pat. Obst check-called Luu's final bet on the end.

Luu tabled {8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} and chipped up nicely on the bubble as Obst mucked his hand.

Noori showed {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a wheel beating the {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-} of Hastings and the {k-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{4-} of Hoeppner who was eliminated.

Giordano Mendes Makes Nuts

After thinking for close to a minute, Park flung in calling chips.

"Nuts," Giordano Mendes said.

Hoeppner Outdraws Hastings

James Hoeppner raised all in for approximately his last 3,800 from the button and was called by the small blind. Brian Hastings raised from the big blind and the small blind folded, taking the two heads up for Hoeppner's tournament life.

Draws went one and two, pat and two, pat and pat before the two tabled their hands.

Hoeppner drew an eight-six on the second draw and it was able to keep him alive in the tournament, beating Hastings' nine-seven.

Robert Campbell called and both players drew two. The Australian check-called a bet and drew two as Hammers drew one. Again Campbell check-called. Campbell drew one as Hammers stood pat.

Campbell bet but folded to a Hammers raise.

"I'll show you," said Hammers, tabling {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a wheel.

Hemingway Takes From O'Dell

Final draws went one and pat and Hemingway led out. O'Dell called and the hand went to showdown.

Hemingway flung a {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} across the table, face up to show O'Dell his seven-six. O'Dell acknowledged and mucked.

She eschewed the de rigueur fanning and sweating of her hand with her tablemates and opponent by gathering her fifth card into her hand.
