Enright Eliminates Espe

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Debbie Espie opened to 4,200. It folded to the small blind who called, then big blind Barbara Enright moved all in, covering Espe. She made the call with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} but Enright held {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Both players watched intently as the {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} board emerged, Enright's pair becoming two and Espe hitting the rail.

"Believe me, I'm never comfortable until I see the river," said Enright, "And then I'm not usually comfortable."

Maudlin Makes Einhorn Fold

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

David Maudlin fired a 6,000-chip bet on the turn with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, and got a call from David Einhorn on the hijack. The river came the {10-Spades}, Maudlin put in another 6,000 bet, and Einhorn folded.

The pot was a much-needed result for Mauldin, who chipped up to 44,000.

Loutfi Takes Chips from Halfon

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Tarick Loutfi opened for 1,600 from the hijack and got three callers, including Albert Halfon from the big blind.

The flop came {6-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and Loutfi put in a bet for 8,100. The button and small blind folded, and Halfon put in the call. The turn and river came out {4-Spades}{7-Spades}, and the action checked through on both streets.

Loutfi showed down {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and his top pair was good on the scary four-flush board, as Halfon showed {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for king high.

Multiple Exits; One Triple-Up

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Marcel Van Heusden found himself outflopping jacks with his {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} (all in pre) to secure a triple up and a much healthier stack of 95,000. His shove was called by a player with {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} as well as by Dong Guo ({j-Hearts}{j-Spades}). The board ran out {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{5-Hearts} which explains the lack of betting on the side.

2012 Seniors Champion Allyn Shulman Still in Contention

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Yesterday we reported on Seniors champion James Hess - but it was in 2011 that he won his bracelet - not 2012. That year belonged to Allyn Shulman, who is still going strong with a comfortably over-average stack of 125000, intimidating triumphal jewellery adorning her wrist. Hess, meanwhile, was eliminated yesterday.

Calabrese Cracks Four Aces at Once

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Preflop action took off when short stack Camillo Calabrese took the plunge for around 20,000 holding {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}, and it was soon obvious why: both of his opponents held aces, red and black respectively.

The board: {9-}{3-}{j-}...{k-Hearts}...{q-Clubs}

"I was loving it!" said Red Aces. "Another guy pushing all in."
"I almost laid it down," said Black Aces.
"Really?"
"No."

Rubin Doubles Through Esposito

Nível 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

John Esposito is requesting thorough media coverage of his journey through Day 2, and immediately after that request found himself in a couple of tricky spots.

In the first hand, Esposito raised on the small blind, and got reraised all-in from a player in early position. Esposito mucked and preserved his 170k-plus stack.

Two hands later, Esposito and Aviel Rubin got in preflop for all of Rubin's remaining 17,500 chips.

Aviel Rubin: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
John Esposito: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

It was the wrong end of a cooler for Esposito, who found no help with the {3-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} runout. The one-time WSOP bracelet winner is still sitting strong, however, with 155,000 chips.

Pham and Camejo Have History

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
David Pham
David Pham

A pot grew heads up between David Pham and Rafael Camejo as Pham bet 4,000 when the {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop was checked to him. Camejo called, then checked again on the {7-Clubs} turn. Pham bet 6,500 and Camejo check-raised to 18,500, with 45,000 or so behind (Pham asked for a rough count). After a brief think, Pham said, "Okay," and folded, showing the {a-Clubs}.

"I got one of those," replied Camejo, flashing the {a-Hearts}.
"Seven," said Pham.
"I guess I don't need to show you that 'cause you already know."

"I like this guy," said Camejo, amongst other musings about the hand and his history playing against Pham and his unique style. Pots played in 2008 are still fresh, with a big one lost still clearly (if good-naturedly) rankling.
