A big confrontation between WSOP bracelet winner Longsheng Tan and Matt Berkey developed on a flop reading . From the big blind, Berkey bet 75,000 over to Tan, in middle position, who raised to 200,000. Berkey made the call.
The turn was the . Berkey checked and Tan fired another barrel for 475,000. Berkey mulled it over for a few moments before sliding the several 100k stacks from his stack into the middle for the call.
The river came the . After Berkey checked again, Tan went for it all by quietly announcing all in. It appeared as though Tan had Berkey slightly covered meaning that it was for Berkey's tournament life.
Berkey thought deeply about the decision and was seemingly torn about what to do. He stared down Tan, who gave absolutely nothing away by remaining motionless with his hoodie covering his mouth. After a couple of minutes, Berkey started to play with his cards, indicating that he was leaning towards a fold but did not relinquish them yet. After about twenty more seconds he did give them up while Tan stowed his cards into the muck and collected the large boon to his stack.
