The Plan for the Rest of the Day

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Charlie Ciresi introduced all remaining players for the tentative schedule of Day 3 including a color up of the T-100 chips at the end of the current level and a dinner break of 75 minutes as of approximately 8.05 p.m. local time. Especially that very announcement triggered applause in the Amazon Room, as the initial dinner break was only 60 minutes.

With another two levels planned after that, the money bubble may not burst, but they will try to reach the money and may play an additional level to do so, then bag right after the bubble has burst if the action continues beyond the full five levels.

Brutal Turn Helps Gutierrez Double Through Winter

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

A brutal turn cared for Sean Winter has just seen him lose the majority of his stack after David Gutierrez hit a set.

The flop came down {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} before the turn came the {10-Diamonds}. The two players got all their chips into the middle and Winter saw that his two pair on the turn was behind to a set of tens.

Sean Winter: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
David Gutierrez: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

There was miracle river card for Winter, which meant Gutierrez doubled to 200,000 and Winter was left short.

Flowers Takes Chip Lead with Elimination of MacKinnon

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Frank Flowers
Frank Flowers

Following a raise from late position, DJ MacKinnon three-bet to 14,000 from the hijack. The action folded to Frank Flowers in the small blind, and he slid out a stack of chips amounting to a four-bet of 125,000. The original raiser folded, and MacKinnon called all-in for roughly that amount.

Flowers: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
MacKinnon: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

MacKinnon was at risk and racing for his tournament life, and when the dealer spread a {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, he would need to find an ace or king to stay alive.

The turn of the {J-Hearts} was the best possible card for MacKinnon that didn't give him the lead, as now he could win with any heart, ace, king, or queen.

Unfortunately for MacKinnon, the river landed the {3-Clubs}, and was eliminated from the Main Event.

As Flowers scooped in the pot, and broke down his chip stack, he has now taken the chip lead.

Anderson Building his Own Way

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

The player in middle position opened to 5,000. Brian Graham, on the button, called. John Anderson, in the big blind, three-bet to 21,000. The original raiser and Graham made the call.

The flop was {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}. Anderson bet 45,000. The original raiser called. Graham shoved for around 200,000. Anderson reshoved for 220,000. The original raiser folded {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} face up.

John Anderson: {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Brian Graham: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The {10-Diamonds} turn and {q-Clubs} river completed the board and Anderson took down the pot, sending Graham to the rail.

Salas Has Heaps...Literally

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Damian Salas
Damian Salas

Damian Salas was just recently moved to the Amazon Room and he brought with him a heavy bag of chips that he dumped in front of his seat. With over 50,000 chips already in the pot, three players were still in the hand with the action checked to the button. He tossed in a bet of 16,000 on a board of {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Damian Salas called from middle position and the cutoff folded.

The river was the {j-Spades} and Salas checked again. His opponent thought for a minute and then slid in a bet of 50,000. Salas instantly tossed a single chip into the pot to signify a call and his opponent tabled {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Salas revealed {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for two pair and scooped another sizeable pot on the day.

About five minutes later, we returned to the table hoping Salas had stacked his chips up, but they have remained in a massive heap scattered all around him. He appears to have roughly doubled his stack from the start of the day, sitting around 650,000.

Timoshenko Pays Cash to See It

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Yevgeniy Timoshenko
Yevgeniy Timoshenko

John Sun opened with a raise to 7,000 and Yevgeniy Timoshenko called from the button.

The flop was {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Sun continued with a bet of 6,000. Timoshenko took him time then called.

On the {6-Hearts} turn, Sun bet again, making it 15,000. Timoshenko thought it over then called.

The river was the {Q-Clubs} and Sun fired again, betting 30,000. Timoshenko made a comment about the river being a bad card then decided to fold.

"Ten dollars to see it," Timoshenko offered to Sun. Immediately Sun turned up his {J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a stone bluff which left Timoshenko shaking his head. "Wow."

Timoshenko took out his wallet and sent $10 over to Sun and Sun smiled raking in the pot and the extra cash bonus as well.

"You just wouldn't go away so I didn't know what to do," Sun said laughing. "I went on a suicide mission."

"Ten dollars for you too if you delete everything you just wrote," Timoshenko said to us.

Fabre Busts One

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Robert Fabre is on the seat that formerly belonged to Demostenes Kiriopoulos over in the Amazon Tan section and just sent a short stack to the rail when his {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} in the small blind held up against {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} from the under-the-gun position. The board came {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Xuan Liu picked up aces to send table neighbour John Yanni to the rail and increased her stack slightly.

Over in the Amazon Orange section, Bruno Portaro faces some tough competition in Ranno Sootla and Barry Greenstein, but has managed to increase his stack on Day 3 thus far.

Minkin Gets a Fold

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

There were about 50,000 chips already in the pot and the board read {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{K-Spades} when we got to the table. Kelly Minkin was on the button and heads-up against a player in middle position. He checked and Minkin bet 20,000, sending her opponent into the tank. After several minutes passed, Minkin called the clock, but her opponent folded before tournament staff could get to the table and she took the pot.

Evans Spikes a Two Outer to Survive

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Lena Evans
Lena Evans

Lena Evans and her opponent were heads up on the {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades} board. Evans shoved all in for 36,700 and there was already close to that amount in the main pot. Her opponent called turning over {4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for trip fours and it looked like the end of the road for Evans who showed {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Evans would need a jack on the river to stay alive and she got just that when the {j-Hearts} completed the board. Evans improved to jacks full of fours thanks to the two outer on the river and earned doubled up.
